right so I've gradually put on weight through pregnancy but I've realised the past 5 weeks or so it's just been creeping up on me 😔 I'm 34+5 and I can't even bring myself to look in the mirror ...my legs are covered in stretch marks? Inside of thigh down to knee I knew having a baby would make changes but I feel I've lost complete control of my body 😪 Please no one be nasty and say bitchy comments yes I understand this happens and yes my little baby is the most important but the weight gain that's getting me down is in my legs they are just getting so big ! Does anyone else feel this way ?!?

It’s hard and remember it will pass. Some of the weight in the lower body is fluid accumulation. If it helps I didn’t gain any weight from 34 weeks til delivery as baby squashed my stomach and my appetite was tiny.

Yes I am 35 weeks and sympathise - I have never managed a just neat bump pregnancy - I swell and fatten. But I am on dc3 now - so I know it is not forever but it is still not an easy change - try to be kind to yourself.

Bless you, it's a nightmare. I'm 38 weeks with baby number 3 and I am so big I can hardly walk. The weight of the baby and extra body weight is killing me. I can't even bring myself to go out. I get anxiety just going to my hospital appointments because I hate the way I look. Hubby keeps telling me 'but you're pregnant, everyone can see you're pregnant' but I just feel like a fat lump. The weight/swelling, everything will go away after baby is born, just have to put up with it a little longer. It is what it is unfortunately. Hope you feel better soon x

If it makes you feel any better, the fat that your body is laying down in your bum and thighs is rich in DHA which will make your baby cleverer Smile

I know it's unnerving but you will get your body back.

Yes! I totally relate to this and am only 26 weeks, dread to think really how I'm going to feel in a month plus!

Some people can be really dismissive and assume you're just superficial if you don't 100% love your growing body but I think that's just crap. You're allowed to not feel this is your best state, even if you do fully appreciate that your bodies growing a little life!
I'm so happy to be pregnant, but jeez cannot wait to get my body back already!

Awe op its very hard. I got stretch marks when I was about 15 from a growth spurt they really do fade so fast after birth. A lot of the weight will come off in the first two weeks too. I know this and I'm on my 3rd but Could still write your op. Be kind to yourself. You are in the home stretch X

Is there anything that might make you feel better about yourself?

I've just had a pedicure. My feet are incredibly swollen, but it felt really good at the time, and now when I look down at least there's some brightly painted nails to make me feel better. Or if you'd rather not focus more on something you dislike, how about a haircut or a manicure?
