Pain between legs

I'm 23+5 in my first pregnancy. For the past few days I've had a full achey feeling between my legs. It feels like it's underneath my labia and in them, but only around my vagina. It's worse when I'm sitting on the toilet. Is this just my pelvic floor complaining? I had it around 4 weeks ago as well, but that time it was triggered by cycling.

Whilst I'm at it: aches between my ribs and sharp twinges in my bump are just things stretching presumably?

I had a lot of aching between my legs. I had SPD and sometimes it was just a general ache in the pubic area.

Noooo, not SPD!!! It actually feels like it's in the tissue more than the bone. Do you have any tips about things that might help? I sat on an icepack last time, but we only have the hard plastic ones so not very comfortable...

My DH regularly came home to find me, legs akimbo on the couch, with a bag of frozen peas clutched to me.

Yea lay/sit down to relieve pressure and get an ice pack on there for 20 mins. Works miracles. 👍

Sound like SPD unfortunately. Mine started getting bad around 20 weeks but I didn't actually make the connection for ages because like you said it feels more like the tissue than the bone. Best thing to do is to make sure when you turn in bed you do it with your knees together and to sleep with a pillow in between your legs. Always sit down when putting on trousers and keep active but try not to overdo it and have lots of warm baths. Unfortunately it does get worse if you don't seek help, so deffo mention it at next appointment. (I now hear my pelvic bone crunch when I turn in bed). My consultant gave me co-codamal now which does help a lot, especially if I have lots of errands to run.

I've just ordered two soft icepacks, which should arrive tomorrow. It doesn't seem to get worse or better depending on what I do, it's just a constant. I had been doing some exercises for me upper body, as well as the 30 day squat challenge. I guess that's a bad idea now? I'm a teacher, so on my feet a lot and active in that way. Should also mention my BMI is about 36, which seems to bring all the third trimester fun forward by a few weeks - also have swollen hands and heavy legs and feet, as well as being breathless. Oh well!

I'd def knock the squats on the head. Try to see a physio that does women's health or get a referral from the GP ( it's free here in Ireland during pregnancy).

Pebblespony · 07/06/2018 17:24

Did the pain start since you started the squats?

NCPuffin · 07/06/2018 17:42

Haven't done any squats for over a week now, and the pain has got worse over the past few days. Before this I occasionally got pain in my hip joints, and the squats actually seemed to help with that.
