Dead leg driving me mad!

Any one else had this and how long did it last? 33 weeks pregnant and my right leg is bothering me loads. It isn't the leg my weight is on when I sleep which is even more irritating but making it so much more hard work to sleep when already struggling. Had 2 nights of it so far and just hoping it is a passing phase!

Have you tried sleeping with a pillow between your legs? Will support the leg and might be more comfortable

I think you should check this out with your midwife or GP.
What exactly are your symptoms?

Bowlofbabelfish · 05/06/2018 12:57

You need to get this checked - and fairly quickly to rule out blood clots and nerve issues.

I would really have this checked out if I were you. I had similar but during labour, DS’ heart rate was also position dependent so I was in one position for hours... 8 years on I still have numb patch on my foot/toes x

Gosh just thought it was one of those annoying pregnancy things didn't think it might be a proper problem. Just rang my midwife but she's on annual leave until tomorrow so not sure what to do now, may just wait until tomorrow to call? It's like a pain in my right bun cheek but going all down my leg from there, is worse when I'm laid down. I tried to sleep with the pillow between my leg last night but just made it feel worse

Sounds like sciatica. Try laying on your back on the floor, put your feet flat, keep your knees together and rock your legs as far as you can each way. Helps untrap the nerve

Thanks - managed to get through to another midwife who said it is likely a trapped nerve or just pelvic issues. Just said to do some exercises and to ring triage if I have swollen calves or ankles. She said that if still a problem when I have my next midwife appointment they would refer me to a physio. Thanks for the advice to speak to someone!
