No bump or movement worries

I've read on the NHS website that you should start feeling flutters between 18-20 weeks. I'm 19+2 and haven't felt anything yet. I'm also not really showing and I've seen some bump pictures of people who are less gestation than me with really obvious bumps. Should I be worrying?

I last had a private sexing scan at 16w and was told that her legs were actually measuring long for how many weeks I was so I know she was growing then, I just thought by now she was supposed to be doubling in size and I thought I'd have a bump by now. I'm not particularly overweight, around a 12-14 generally but I do have a belly anyway as a result of losing so much weight when I was younger and never really toning up after.

Any advice or hand holding appreciated, sure I'm being silly

I didn’t have a bump at 19 weeks and only felt v indistinct movements.

My first pregnancy I felt bump around 18. But second wasn't until 22, which really had me in a flap as they say you're meant to feel it sooner with second! Everyone's different x

I'm 19+4. No obvious bump - just look chubby. Possible movement but probably just wind. I think this is completely normal for first pregnancy.

Sounds normal to me. At your next scan ask where your placenta is, both my pregnancies have been anterior (at the front) which makes it harder to feel movement as the placenta acts as a cushion. I also had a small bump first time until end of pregnancy, and this time I feel huge but keep getting told that I don’t look pregnant or have a bump so it must be a small bump again (currently 21weeks). It’s all perfectly normal. Try not to worry- there’s enough worrying to do once the baby arrives xx

I’m 29 weeks and didn’t feel anything I was sure was movement until 19-20 weeks. Felt first kick at 23 weeks. My placenta is at the front so that sometimes impacts on how you feel movements! My biggest stress atm is baby hasn’t developed a pattern of foetal movements (meant to start from 28 weeks). She’s moving but doing her own thing!

I’m on my third at 23 weeks and feeling movements only v sporadically. With my first it was at 20 weeks and 13 with my second. Bubs is fine, am having regular scans, he’s just in a weird position and on the small side I think, and the placenta is at the front this time which makes a difference apparently. Everybody’s different, you can tie yourself up in knots about it, especially at this stage. If it’s making you really anxious, give your midwife a call, or phone Obs triage, and they’re always really happy to reassure you. Smile

Thank you everyone i feel better now. Have my 20w scan on Monday morning so Im sure that will make me feel better too - providing everythings well of course. I've not got any real reason to believe anything is wrong (no pain, bleeds etc) but you know what it's like. I'm usually a very logical person when it comes to everything else but this pregnancy has had me in jitters!
