Should baby be upside down by now?

I'm 30+ weeks and baby has been "sat up" in my tummy for the last 8 weeks, head in my ribs, bottom on my bladder - MW doesnt seem concerned yet, but when should baby turn upside down? Is it too early yet?
Bit concerned as maternal grandmother had 2 breech babies, and mother had me and bro by emergency c section as we were breech. Will this happen to me or isn't it a hereditary thing?

Baby has plenty of time to move. Should be head down by 36 weeks really.

Aw Bibi - don't fret. Mears knows her stuff and that's what all the books etc say too. There are exercises and yoga poses that can encourage baby to move too, so might be worth looking into if you are concerned.

Hope you are feeling better today - are you back at work? xx

my ds turned at 37 weeks, and was born 2 weeks overdue.
dd was head down bang on 35 weeks, posterior then swivelled to OA perfect position 4 days before she was born...
They do make you worry a bit though!

PHEW! Thought I was in trouble there! Thanks for the advice ladies

Okay, I'm going to gently suggest to baby that he/she turn upside down int he next few weeks, then give baby a stern talking to if he/she's not turned by 36 weeks. Don't want it coming out bum first - not a very dignified entrance into the world.

I am back in work today, not quite as lethargic as I have been - sleeping far too much in my opinion, but I can't seem to stay awake!

Bibi - found this for you. If you google "optimum foetal positioning" there is a lot of information on there. The laying on our left side stuff is a big part of this too (combined with your current sleep pattern, this could work wonders!!)
