Transverse Baby at 36 weeks

I've had a mw appointment this morning and baby is lying transverse. I thought she was in a weird position, and has been for at least 2 months.
I've got a scan booked for Friday and an appointment for next week with the consultant. This is DC3, I've had two really easy births - one homebirth (UK) and one hospital birth (overseas) and I was planning the same, even planning to work until my due date as both babies were over a week late. Now all my plans may have to change as mw said that if she doesn't move in the next 2 weeks it will be a planned c-sect. I'm not in the UK so not sure whether this differs from UK normal procedures.
Has anyone had a transverse baby move this late, especially when they have been in this position for a while?

Hello Smile
DD1 was transverse for a long time, right up until my midwife appointment the week before she was born, she was a day late so that must have been around 39 weeks she shifted.

We were in a restaurant when she did it and it properly took my breath away with the sudden pressure as she turned down and I dropped my drink Grin

I had one of those yoga balls that I spent most evenings bouncing on and also used to lay with my head on the floor on a pillow and bum in the air whilst reading a magazine. That might have helped a little too

I had my son by planned cs 5 days ago, at 37 weeks he was picked up as lying transverse at a position scan (he'd been breech to this point).
As I was term at that point I was advised not to leave the hospital as if waters go when baby is transverse there is a real risk of cord prolapse. If he turned either breech or cephalic and stayed for 2 days I was allowed home. He turned breech so I was booked for a cs at 39 weeks when I went for my cs he had turned cephalic in the day or 2 before but not engaged!

Went ahead with cs as consultant wanted him out at 39 weeks and I wasn't comfortable with an induction especially not with a baby who was not engaged and could therefore still turn!

So they can and do turn that late if you've got a wriggly one :)

Hi - I’m 34 weeks and also was told I have a transverse little one last week. There is a website called spinningbabies.com that has specific moves to try. Some of the site is a little overwhelming but there is an upside down move and also a hip stretch that I tried yesterday and I am pretty sure babe moved at least partially out of sideways last night. Bump seems more up and down. Also, massage from an expert in opening up the hips or chiropractor are both good.

Fakingit - There isn't any solid scientific evidence to support the content of the spinning babies website, but obviously people are free to try what they like. Just wanted to pop in to say that my baby turned somewhere between 34 and 35 weeks - was transverse at 34 week appointment (and had been for ages up until then) but then head down at 35 week appointment. I didn't notice them turning and didn't do anything 'special' to try and make them turn.

Well I just had a scan, and she's breech, with a low-lying placenta. So highly likely it will be a c-section now. I have to wait until Thursday for a consultant appointment (scans are done at a separate place here) to confirm.
Annoyingly I went to yoga last night and we did all kinds of positions to move the baby! I think she moved in the night as she went from transverse to breech but the placenta thing is the main concern now I think.
