Has anyone not gained much during pregnancy? I was fairly big to begin with, a uk size 18 to 20. I've just weighed my self an i have lost 1lb over the last week or so. I know it isn't much but just checked my weight at 8 week midwife appointment and i was 15 and a half stone. So i have only put on half a stone 32 weeks pregnant currently. Should i worry about this? I was really sick with DD1 and lost 2 stone by the time she was born but i haven't been anywhere near as sick this time round.

I seem to remember reading that us overweight ladies (I’m classed as obese by BMI) are supposed to maintain rather than gain during our pregnancies if at all possible, so I wouldn’t worry :)

I was a size 16 when I started both. I had severe HG in both and lost weight in the first half did pregnancy. I put about 5kg on by the end of the first, of which a lot was fluid and was merrily peed out when I was in hospital. I left hospital lighter than booking weight.

If you’re overweight then you don’t always need to gain - obviously some caveats to that, twins and triplets etc, and follow the advice of your Mw.

Thanks for replying ladies.
I had spoken about weight with consultant at about 20 weeks and was told she didn't want me gaining or losing any weight if possibly. Defiently no losing. I am not in pre-pregnancy clothes. Had to go up 2 to 3 sizes. Midwife hasn't weighed me since 25 weeks. I will mention it to the consultant when i see her on thursday xx
