Tall side by side crib

Hi, our bed is stupidly tall, the mattress top is 27 inches / 70cm from the floor. Can anyone recommend a crib similar to the Chico next to me that works at that height?

I know that you can get extension legs to increase the height of the Arm's Reach co-sleeper, but I don't know how easily you would find one in the UK. Bednest, Snuzpod and Chicco will all be too short, I fear.

I had exactly the same issue and gave up and just took the side off a normal cot and pushed it up against the bed. Worked beautifully and meant we didn't have to transfer DC into a cot when she outgrew a crib/moses basket etc. She's still in the same cot now at 16 mo (although now in her own room) that she slept in from day 1.

I'm actually really glad now that our bed was too big and we didn't waste money on a bedside crib.

@pastabest that sounds like a really good idea actually, I've found one that would be almost level but it's very expensive, so maybe just an ordinary cot with the removable side is a winner and then the side can be put back on and moved to baby's room when ready.

You will hopefully find that the highest base level plus cot mattress on most standard cots is about exactly the right height as I think our bed and mattress was 70cm high too.

I went to the effort of measuring it with DC1 to make sure it fit exactly (and was pleasantly surprised to find it did) but I'm expecting DC2 in a few weeks and bought a cheap (£20) second cot secondhand on Facebook without measuring it first and its highest setting + mattress seems to be the same height as DC1s cot was despite being completely different cots.

It also doesn't matter if it's a few mm - to a cm out though as once you have sheets etc on the difference in height will actually appear negligible.

We had a Snuzpod with my first but since then we've bought a new bed, and it's a lot taller. We've just bought some foam tiles to stack under the Snuzpod and make it the right height.

We had this problem and bought the knuma huddl which transforms into a desk and bench after life as a cot.

We have the troll bedside crib which we used for first daughter. Our bed is high and the troll fitted perfectly (with another notch to spare).

We are just about to sell our Arms Reach co-sleeper, as baby is moving in to his own room very soon. We still have everything it came with, and have used the leg extensions as we also have a stupidly high bed. You're more than welcome to get in touch if you want to see photos etc, just PM me if you're interested.

I was also going to suggest the Knuma Huddle. We haven't bought one yet, but we also have a tall bed and think this is the one we are going for. It's wooden so looks really nice like the Snuzpod, and also transforms into a children's desk and bench after you're done using it as a cot.

I got the tutti bambini Cozee bedside crib as it came up higher than the others and worked for our bed.

We just used her travel system carrycot and then an ordinary cot with the side down - enough so we could reach in to comfort her but not so she could roll out (mattress is set in the bed so not possible to get the cot flush against it and I wasn't happy about shoving towels down etc). She did startle a bit when there was a lot of space around her but we solved that by swaddling (would use the Grosnugs now but didn't know about them then). We just wanted her to get used to the cot asap and avoid unnecessary transitions.

Refurbished bednests are on sale for £99, the max height is 66cm www.bednest.com

We have the same issue, the snuzpod is the tallest we could find, so I bought that and a sheet of plywood I had cut to size to raise it (was about £12 and the cutting is free in b&q). I intended to paint the plywood but in the end didn't bother.
