Started packing hospital bag after a stay in hospital last week got me panicking. I have no idea what to pack for DD to wear!! DS was born in January so he wore a vest and sleepsuit in hospital with a cardigan and blanket for the journey home.

Will she need vests? Or just sleepsuits? Or footless romper things? Does she still need a hat?

I’m clearly clueless about dressing a summer baby Grin

My eldest was born in hot weather and he still wore a vest and sleepsuit and in hospital, with a lightweight blanket when sleeping. He was sweating though! By the time we had had him home a few days we realised he didn’t need both and was mainly in short sleeve and short leg vests as it was really hot (summer of the Olympics). I would suggest stocking up on footless sleep suits so you can adjust their heat more easily by just taking socks off. So much easier having my summer baby than ds2 who was born in December and we had to seriously layer up before we went out anywhere.

I had an August baby last year and she was initially in a vest and sleep suit.

My son is 11 weeks and is currently wearing vest and shorts and tshirt. He sleeps in a vest and blanket as he still gets too warm and doesn't like the grobag as he can't kick it off. (Our room is about 19/20 degrees atm. Try as we might we just can't get it down to 18.
Quite often during the day when it is so warm he has ending up just kicking in a long sleeve or short sleeve vest.
Babygrows are currently a no go for him as he gets too warm.
I always bring a Cardigan and socks just in case. Evening time of we go walking we add hat and light jacket as he is in a fleecy swaddle type pram blanket which I will honestly say has been a lifesaver in terms of actually getting him to nap.
He was born in March but even then when he left hospital he was in vest, babygrow, light jacket, hat and wool blanket.
I like rompers with no feet as it's easy to add/ take off socks depending how warm or cold they get 😊

I have a June baby. When I had him the ward was sweltering but the midwives insisted he was in a vest, sleepsuit and hat with a blanket at all times. I thought it was far too hot but when I removed his hat and blanket I got a stern telling off so there you are!

I’ve waddled in to town and purchased additional sleepsuits and vests and a set of hats. Will add a cardigan, socks and 2 x footless rompers so all bases are covered!

Winter babies are so much easier to dress, layers, layers, layers!
