31 weeks - baby isn't moving when nudged

Good morning!

Just a quick one to see if anyone else has experienced this but my baby girl has stopped responding to being nudged or having music played for her... up until a few weeks ago she went wild for having music played but that's stopped... she doesn't respond to any nudges... don't get me wrong she's still moving of her own accord but I just would've thought a nudge she would still be responding to...

Anyone else experience anything similar? Xx

If you're struggling to get baby to move or the pattern is unusual I would go to get checked

Go and get checked out. I went for monitoring maybe 5 or 6 times during my pregnancy, due to reduced movement. It's really important.

Hello sorry her movements aren't reduced, they are still really good and strong kicks but it's just if I judge her to try and get her to she doesn't move

Maybe she's asleep?

She's probably wondering why she keeps getting prodded for no apparent reason ;)

My bump stopped kicking back about the same point, I think he might have been getting a bit pressed for space. I'm quite jealous of people with bumps that move to music, I think mine has only done that twice.

I have never had much success in 'forcing' him to move - he seems to move when he wants and only then! The only exception is when the midwives press down on my bump, but they do it much more firmly than I'd want to! Having said that, though, this has always been the case for me - if you feel like this is a change to your pattern of movements then the advice is to always get checked out, just in case.

I don't think I ever nudged or poked mine to get a response so I can't comment specifically on that. What I will say though is that ANY CHANGE in movements needs a check. This is a change. Go get checked. It will probably be ok but you were worried enough to notice t and to post about it - the only responsible thing to do is get checked. It will take a couple of hours and you will be reassured and advised. Or there is a small chance this is a sign of something wrong, in which case you are in the best place to get help and treatment.

Please go get checked.

As the baby gets bigger the type of movements change as they don’t have as much room to move so it’s different from the early feeling of them spinning all around

Having just spent a very scary week being monitored in hospital due to reduced movements I would strongly advise just popping in and getting checked if there are any changes. The midwives won’t mind and it’ll put your mind at ease 😊
