Sorry if that sounds like a really dumb question but if I don't ask I worry! I'm 32+1 weeks and I have this awfull pain in my throat when I'm swallowing feels like it on one tonsil so if it does transform into anything like throats infection or any sort of not niceness to do with throats will it harm Abby and what can I take ?

You can safely take paracetamol. It might be worth seeing the GP in case it is a bacterial infection and needs antibiotics.

Your illness cannot harm the baby, and in fact s/he will benefit from the antibodies that you are producing to fight the illness.

Hi lass

as PP said paracetamol is fine in pregnancy but defo speak to GP to get them to check incase antibiotics are needed - had similar issues 3x during this pregnancy and im only 28 weeks.

the bug going round right now is a throat infection - starts off niggling on one side then hurts like bugger when swallowing and then dry throat kicks in with a painful cough.

you cannot take anything like throat sprays due to local anaestheic unless prescribed by doctor but you can safetly have Jakemans or Lockets to suck on. Calpol 6+ is good for throats as you can gargle it before swallowing - just follow the instructions for age etc.
