Hi
I want an elective section but heard it can sometimes be hard to get approved.
Any advice from anyone who has had an elective section would be good.
Midwife at my first appointment didn't let me ask any questions & was v rude so hoping to discuss it at my next appointment in 3 wks time with hopefully a different midwife
Thanks

Mine was due to incontience in pregnancy. They worried it would be permanent after a natural birth.
I also had spd but the consultant was more concerned about the incontience.

Some women also have a fear of child birth and it's approved in those circumstances. But you have to be insistent.

Why are you thinking a EcSection

Can I ask WHY you want an elective c section?
I will get flamed but I don’t give a shit.
I would, unless it’s a medical nessecity advise AGAINST a csection.
I have given birth both ways and I have a relatively common side effect of a c section. They are called adhesions. It’s scar tissue which grows internally. You can’t stop it. If you get them cut away they grow back. I am crippled in pain with them. They stated to hurt 6 years after my csection. I can’t work any more as I don’t know ever if I will be able to get out of bed the next day. I take so much prescription morphine to keep the pain at manageable level - not that that always works- that I’m utterly addicted.
If you don’t need surgery don’t have it is my advice. Is it really worth the risk?

Is this your first pregnancy? If so I guess it all depends on the reasons behind it.

I've had 2 c sections. Emergency for first and elective for the second. I've had no long term health problems following either. My elective section was far more pleasant than the emergency for obvious reasons. I had no issues having my elective, the majority of Dr's and midwives I saw advised me to have another section.

Had to have a section due to fibroids. No medical issues whatsoever resulting from it.
