Sorry for the TMI but I am 32 weeks pregnant and today in my knickers was quite a large (palm sized) amount of clear fluid. Completely clear and textureless, like water. I came home and had a shower, dried off and I am still feeling quite damp down there - is this normal or is this to do with amniotic leaking? I am freaking out! I called midwife but no one called back, and I feel a bit silly calling the hospital in case it's normal.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Labour ward are always happy to chat on the phone to you. Very used to it. Better safe than sorry, at the least they will reassure you

Could just be discharge. I went in to be checked for this in my first pregnancy around your gestation and it wasn’t my waters. I continued to be quite damp down their for the rest of pregnancy.
If u was you I’d put a pad in and check in an hour. If it feels quite damp I would phone your maternity assessment to get it checked out to be sure. Although obviously if you start getting pains just phone! Hope all is well Smile

I had exactly the same experience as @readysetcake - always better to be safe than sorry but mine also turned out to be discharge and I remained quite damp until 41 weeks, when DS made his appearance!

Ok thank you everyone - I called and they were lovely and said to put a maternity pad in, walk around and see if its damp after 30 mins - 1 hour.
