Too early for maternity clothes, what do you wear?

It's too early to buy any maternity clothes but my waistband is getting tight.. what do you wear on your bottom half?

It's work wear I'm struggling with mostly. Tops are fine but bottoms are impossible..

I bought some larger sizes from Primark to keep me going but regret it now as I quickly grew out of them! Honestly maternity clothes are brilliant - never too early! I regret not getting some earlier!

H&M nearly all have maternity clothes in store. Their leggings, vests, over the bump jeans and work trousers are the best and most reasonable £££

For something absolutely lovely for v smart, look out for Isabella Oliver on special offer!

I am 22 wks & found when I try maternity clothes on the bump section is really too saggy & they look odd.
I have bought some jeans & leggings a size up which are currently fine.
Is annoying most maternity ranges are only online or the shops only have a limited selection
Where is everyone finding the best place to buy maternity clothes?

Ebay! Re fit I think it depends on the brand though - I'm 20 weeks and my bump has been filling the bump bit for weeks! Thank god it's super stretchy! And I'm only usually a size 8-10! I'm finding size 10 maternity clothes do the trick for trousers (love my eBay Next ones but hate my New Look ones), and I'm now wearing oversized Primark tops over it.

I work in healthcare and these fitted perfectly until about 24 weeks as they are pretty much all elastic! I reckon they’d be fine in with a loose blouse over the top as a comfy work trouser. Plus they are super cheap!

Just put on first pair of maternity jeans today, soooooo comfy. only 10 weeks but with my second and everything else was starting to hurt.

You know all those annoying jeans and tena ladies adverts where people walk around sticking their bums out and slapping their back pockets? that's me all round today.

And no one can tell - the bump band is easily hidden under my top. There are some brands that just have a bit of elasticated fabric at the sides which are subtle too.

I bought a really cheap bundle of maternity clothes online for £10, good way to test out different brands/styles.

I just bought normal leggings but a size up.
Asda do maternity but they also do loose fitting tunic tops which, at £8, are a bargain. Again, just get 1 size up.

Non-skinny maternity jeans - only really seen them online at ASOS and maybe Gap?

Bowlofbabelfish · 16/05/2018 14:25

It’s never too early. For my first it took about three months to hit that jeans uncomfortable stage. For my second I just thought fuck it and for the maternity jeans out at about six weeks Grin

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 16/05/2018 17:27

I was managed in normal jeggings until about 14 weeks then bought some underbump maternity jeans from New Look and OH MY GOD...they are the comfiest thing ever! I may never go back to normal jeans. I had to go a size down from my normal size in them though.

I'm 22wks with DC2 and I have been in my maternity trousers since about 10 weeks. Before that I invested in a pair of smart trousers with an elasticated waist for work. I struggled on with my first til about 15/16 weeks but this time I went for it for comfort early. George are ok for jeans etc... most of my stuff is from there. Try ebay too!

cookiesaurus · 16/05/2018 17:41

I'm at the point where I need some new clothes very soon too! I am 17 weeks now and definitely need new jeans ... where can I find petite, non-skinny maternity jeans? It currently feels like an impossible mission!! I don't have a huge bump yet either - work in a school and my sixth form students thought I was joking when I told them I was pregnant! I thought it was obvious :(
