I can’t quite see a second line in this one, could you take another photo maybe? Is your period late?

bm34 · 15/05/2018 10:07

@Armygirl I don't get periods so it makes it so much more difficult, I just test when I have symptoms. Sunday morning I had 2 positives, since then I've had negatives! I'm so confused

Oh dear, I hope you get your bfp soon

SecretStash · 15/05/2018 12:00

That’s not a positive test.

Is it possible to get pregnant without periods?

Celebelly · 15/05/2018 14:08

If you never have periods, you aren't ovulating. If you very rarely have a period, then you possibly are ovulating but just very infrequently.

You can technically get pregnant if you haven't had a period in however long if you manage to catch a really sporadic ovulation, but if you just don't have periods full stop, then you aren't ovulating (and if you didn't conceive on that sporadic ovulation, you'd have a period ~14 days later).

Celebelly · 15/05/2018 14:14

(There are very rare situations where you can ovulate and not have a period, but that's usually to do with scarring, etc.)

SecretStash · 15/05/2018 15:46

Cellebelly, it would have nothing to implant into without a thick uterine wall... when a pregnancy doesn’t occur the lining is shed. So if there’s no periods then what does the potential blastocyst imbed into?

Celebelly · 15/05/2018 16:23

I'm not sure what you're referring to as nothing I said contradicted that?

If you have PCOS or something where you ovulate very rarely, then it's possible to conceive without having had a period for X amount of time if you are lucky and catch the ovulation. The period is the end of that process, not the beginning. You don't need to have a period in order to ovulate, but if you ovulate you will have a period (unless you conceive).

SecretStash · 15/05/2018 20:39

I see.

The OP never has periods though so I guess it’s a different scenario.

Celebelly · 16/05/2018 09:57

Yeah although from another post it seems she's been on the pill so that would explain it anyway!
