So i have been on the pill and unfortunately, the sperm played its role very well. i just discovered i'm pregnant, i'm guessing maybe a month now. I am happy considering the gap between my son and the expected new addition but with the 15 month gap, am i going to cope? anyone who has the DC under 1.5yrs. osme advice will help.

I have ds's 14 months apart, and dd's 15 months apart. The boys were /are easy!! Got the older dc into a fab bedtime routine now and it will pay off!!
2 dd's were fab also but at 11+12 I am reconsidering that statement!! Shock.
Get a decent double buggy so you never feel housebound!
With a bit of practice you can get them to nap at the same time and have time for Brew and mning!!

@Aprilmightbemynewname that is very helpful. I was sweating a bit thinking about it. Well i can imagine the 11 = 12 stage :) it might be hectic, with them going to school and all the money you need for them.

I was a childminder and had ch with that gap. Be organised, have meals and snacks (for you too) prepped.
Be realistic and don't expect to do too much

I've got 3 older boys and then my younger 2 have a 12 month gap. It's been hard but also really good. They are now nearly 4 and nearly 5. My nearly 5 year old has had a lot of operations so juggling that was hard, first with a baby in hospital and me pregnant, then 1 year old who had just had major surgery and newborn. The stage where they were both running around in opposite directions and getting into everything was hard too but we became regulars at our local small softplay where was always staff at the entrance and a locked gate.

My boys adore each other and are the best of friends. The biggest problem now is that with my older one at school they miss each other so much during the day. It's lovely to see my little one running to the front door when he hears his big brothers coming home.

you guys are really helpful.

I have a nanny for my 8 month old, she does a great job with him, i really do not feel the pinch becuase i only get to see him on weekends and after work.

I FORGOT TO MENTION THIS IMPORTANT POINT THOUGH; THE HUSBY SAID HE DOESNT WANT ANOTHER CHILD so he does not know yet and i do not know how to break the news to him. He will faint or fall into depression...im not ssure how to deal with it. i decided to deal with myself and accept first so that i can be able to manage him as well. i am excited though...he will stress me out.

My first two have a 15 month gap and second and third a 14 month gap so I had three in the space of 2.5 years. It wasn’t a walk in the park by any stretch of the imagination and the first two years of having three DC do feel like a blur. I was mostly in survival mode just getting through each day as it came. You figure out a routine that works and find ways of getting by, even if it involves a lot of CBeebies Wink. Honestly, reams of women have done this before and survived. It’s easier when they grow up and are always at similar stages I.e starting school/nursery.

Good luck OP.

There's 11 months between my two and if I'm completely honest I have loved it. Yes some days have been tough, really tough, but getting into a routine and sticking to it really helps. Within maybe 9 months my 2 were napping at the same time which gave me valuable time for a coffee and a sit down. Don't try and do too much, make sure you have time for yourself and split the house jobs. Oh and just be realistic about what you can and can't do, soft play is a no go at the minute as I would have one in the baby bit and one in the older bit, that's impossible to manage on your own! Surround yourself with amazing friends and family and you will be fine.

I have 13 months between my first two. Yes it was tough but it definitely has its advantages. Never mind getting a cuppa by myself I was able to catch up on valuable sleep when they were both asleep. There is 2 years and 3 months between number 2 and 3 and I found that tougher because I was always on duty and never got down time. Number 4 is now on the way and there will be 21 months between 3 and 4. I will have 4 under 5!! But they will all grow up together and the older two are great pals and I never have to worry when we go anywhere they have someone to play with. Regarding your dh, although we tried for number 4 when it happened I was terrified and it took me a few days to tell him, although he was delighted. So hopefully your dh will be ok too.

You have no idea what you are doing to my heart right now, i feel like i have a support system. Talking to other women who had the same experience really helps. Hopefully my DH will be as excited as i am right now. xoxo

We are ttc number 3 now, having the first two close together has done nothing to put me off Grin

Hideandgo · 15/05/2018 09:01

You’ll be fine. I’d similar gaps twice on top of each other. So 3 under 3. Testing at times for sure but I think I could definitely enjoy just two babies 15mths apart. It’s having the third that causes the stress to be honest.
