Is this PGP?

Had a niggling hip pain for a few days, usually just when I get home from work and sit down.

However, woke up this morning and I could barely walk. Hip felt weak on right side, as if it was about to buckle, but didn't. Seems to ease off after 4-5 minutes of slow walking, but as soon as I sit down and get back up it starts again.

Really struggling at work today and need some advice. Is there much docs can do if it is PGP? Anyone got any tips for easing it?

Hiya, not sure if it's PGP or not, but I had the exact same thing a few years ago... took an hour and a half to get out of bed most mornings!
I remember taking paracetamol and ibuprofen for a few days to reduce the pain, and I've not had it as badly since.
I literally used to get to work dragging my leg behind me, and by mid morning was okay again.
If it's the same, I really feel for you! I went to a walk in clinic rather than doctor as couldn't leave work. Get well soon

Sorry, should have been more clear.... it was the walk in clinic that advised paracetamol and ibuprofen and it did work x

Get your GP to refer you to a physio. I was given a giant maternity belt with before my bump got too big really helped with the hip, lower pelvis and tail bone pain. She recommended keeping my knees really tight together when getting out of bed, getting off a chair or out the car etc. I also found that if I could just get through the first 10 mins of walking when I got up (which often was agony!) then gentle moving around and not sitting very much at all meant the rest of the day was better. I won’t lie, SPD/PGP was not fun. However, towards the end a combination of getting better at managing it and according to the physio the baby being bigger and therefore providing more stability by kinda locking things in to place - yep I thought that sounded bonkers too - meant it eased off massively. Fingers crossed for you it eases. X

Oh and sleeping with a pillow between my knees helped too.

Oh, one last thing a before I saw the physio my OH got me a “maternity belt” from from somewhere like mothercare (can’t remember) it was maybe about three inches wide and didn’t help at all, when I saw the industrial one the physio was fitting me for I realised why! It was free and she taught me exactly how to use it. Before I saw her I thought I was going to be an agony to the end and honestly didn’t know how I was going to cope! Defo week a referral sooner rather than later in case it takes a few weeks. Good luck.

Ibuprofen when pregnant? I thought that wasn’t advised?

Ibuprofen in pregnancy is not advised. It can cause problems with the fetal heart. Best just to stick with paracetamol if needed. If the pain needs more than paracetamol, see a doctor!
