Agree with spatone - in oodles of orange juice

Miaou · 16/05/2007 12:53

Take charcoal tablets too, they are good for counteracting the effects of the iron tablets (but they make your poo go black )

JARM · 16/05/2007 12:53

Spatone!!!!

chemists - £6.49 for 28 sachets!

Oooooodles and oooooodles of OJ!

MoodyMa · 16/05/2007 12:54

PMT!!

Yes get anusol and try not to push to hard when it comes to delivery of baby

Did I tell you I had to stay inside the house for 10 days after birth of DS2 as mine were HUGE, I could hardly walk [wince]... could hardly get anusol past them

I still cannot understand these mothers strolling about 2 days after childbirth...

Have they NO piles??? HOW???

Tutter · 16/05/2007 12:59

pmsl at "try not to push to hard when it comes to delivery of baby"

have i mentioned they have warned me he has a mahoosive head

and i have to go to the hosp tomorrow for them to investigate me being MFD (mahoosive for dates)

so my only hope of not pushing too hard is if he stays breech and i have a section

and size of piles post childbirth is a competition i assure you i could win. a horrific story for another thread, another time... [queasy]

spatone - yes, thanks all - i shall hasten to the chemist later...

Spatone at either Boots or Holland and Barrett. In Boots they are 3 for 2 at the moment. spatone

MoodyMa · 16/05/2007 13:02

Oh No at massive head and MFD but it will be fine...just remember to have the first 10-14 days covered for when you get home, as you shall be unable to walk, very far....well without your piles rubbing together

I remember the Doctor asking "Would you like me to look at them for you?"

Me: "No its okay, they are just little ones"!!!

xx you will be fine xx

I got piles for the first time after the birth of my son 3 years ago which involved a 3 hour pushing stage. His head was 3 cm bigger than average.

I am now 38 weeks and got piles again about 10 days ago. I couldn't sleep at all the first night and ended up phoning the emergency doctor in the middle of the night due to the pain. He recommended frozen peas on site, anusol, paracetemol and finally trying to push them back in myself which much to my shock and after sitting in a warm bath for an hour actually worked. I now have to do this fairly regularly.

This baby is supposed to be very big and I am having a planned c-section in a week's time. I have been a bit worried about the op, but having piles was the final thing that made me sure of the decision. I was just in so much pain, and there is no way that I wouldn't have a difficult pushing stage if I went for a vaginal birth.

I did start taking Spatone about a week before the piles appeared and wondered if that could have triggered them off but when I posted here about it no one seemed to think so.

I feel incredibly uncomfortable at the moment, what with baby pushing my insides out at one end and horrendous heartburn/sore throat at other which is either stomach acid being pushed up or tonsilitis.

Sorry to go on, but I just cannot get to sleep!

Hopeitwontbebig · 20/05/2007 18:40

How does spatone work then in comparison to 'conventional' iron tablets prescribed by docs. Think I'm anaemic at the mo, 22 weeks and SOOO lethargic. Will NOT go anywhere near iron tablets, I suffer from IBS and iron tabs make me horrendously constipated.

Sorry for gatecrash, but does spatone not give you constipation then?

fuzzywuzzy · 20/05/2007 18:42

spatone or floradix are pretty good iron supplements if you dont get on with the ones your dr prescribed.
