Hi everyone. Really need some advice on what to do.

I’ve recently found out that I’m pregnant but me, my dh and group of friends have tickets for Radio One big weekend (booked before we found out).

I’m really torn on what to do! I won’t be camping as we have accommodation near by so that won’t be a problem I’m just worried that being so early into the pregnancy it may be a bit much to take.

I’ve also spoken to my midwife who said it would be fine just to avoid crowds but I still have this feeling of doubt.

So, please tell me straight. Would I be irresponsible by going or am I over thinking it?

@Birchgirl I didn’t find out I was pregnant until nearly 20 weeks, but I went to a 3 day festival when I would have been around 17 weeks and I camped and managed to fall off of DP’s shoulders while we were dancing (felt terrible when I found out about the baby) but as my midwife said they are very well protected in there. I hope you enjoy yourself! 🙂

I camped at a festival last summer when I was 10 weeks pregnant. The only problem I had was making excuses about why I wasn't drinking with the rest of my party!

Hi Birchgirl,

I take these and they are great for morning sickness.

Maybe they can help? amzn.to/2rl0c0B

It really help settle my stomach, have a good time if you do go.

I went to big weekend last year when I was 14 weeks. Nausea had stopped but I was absolutely fine. Yes there are a lot of people but there's still plenty of space to place a rug down and spread out, you can still see the main stage etc. Go and enjoy yourself Grin

Birchgirl · 04/05/2018 10:28

That’s the next dilemma on how to hide it haha we might just end up telling them. It’ll only be two weeks before our first scan so not too bad.

Can you take a rug in? Cause their website says no chairs but if I can take a rug I will

I’m still planning to see Britney at Brighton Pride at 37 weeks pregnant 😂

If you feel tired then sure try and sit and rest, but if you feel fine then you don't need to sit for the baby's sake...
You can dance all night in a crowd, it won;t harm the baby.

Just keep hydrated, monitor if you get tired and want to rest, and if you are dancing etc then rest if you get very hot.. But otherwise you can function as normal!

PotteringAlong · 04/05/2018 12:08

I’ll just avoid crowds why? What harm will a crowd do?

confuddledconfuddle · 04/05/2018 12:14

I went to radio 1 big weekend at 3 months and it was fantastic - there were loads of us pregnant mums hanging out at the back - as long as you are not feeling rough go and enjoy!

I also went camping at 11 and 28 weeks pregnant and had no issues

confuddledconfuddle · 04/05/2018 12:16

Oh I also had a hen in Santa ponsa at 30 weeks - I made the most of my last baby free summer :-)

Grumpos · 04/05/2018 20:12

I went to big weekend last year in Hull. It wasn’t hardcore in the slightest! We barely actually got into any of the crowds as we mostly watched from the sides, enjoying the bars and food too much! When we did go towards the front it wasn’t even that bad, honestly just go and enjoy it from the sidelines. There was plenty of grass to sit on, loads of food and drink and the toilets weren’t even that bad - although I’d advise a mini pack of wet wipes. Have fun!!

@confuddledconfuddle @Grumpos

Thank you that’s made me feel so much better. You’ve given me the nudge I need haha

@PotteringAlong well so that I don’t get bumped into or nudged really. This was what my midwife said so avoid too
