Been to the midwife today who said it felt like baby was breech after previously thinking it was already head down at 34 weeks.Got sent for a scan and they confirmed it is breech.Waiting now for a date for ECV at 37 weeks.Any success stories or tips anyone wants to share?!I really want to avoid a caesarean if at all possible!

Check out the Spinning Babies website. All you need is on there! Positive turning stories and advice on how to turn your baby yourself. Good luck.

+1 for spinning babies. I also went to chiropractor. Usually dont believe in that kind of thing but the baby turned. Could be coincidence.

The only thing I've 100% decided on for my second pregnancy is that I will never have another ECV. The c-section I had for my breecher 3 years ago was so SO much better than the failed ECV I had had a few weeks earlier.

I tried other methods to turn the baby (scrubbing floors etc!), but it wasn't to be.

If I have another breech (likely, with womb shape), I would go for a section or breech delivery over an ECV. It was awful.

But then, it does work for some people, so presumably not everyone has the same experience as me!

Had one breech baby that turned at 37 weeks, one that didn't even with accupuncture, scrubbing floors, hanging upside down and a failed ECV, and one that I had by EMCS as there was no way that I was going down the ECV route again.

Worth giving everything a go though. Of all my births (SVD, ELCS abd EMCS) the planned section was by far the easiest to get over. Was also the only birth that didn't leave with any post natal trauma. So whlie it may not be your ideal, it may not be the end of the world.

Good luck

I would just like to add that I had 2 ECVs with my first child and it wasn't an awful experience. Uncomfortable yes. Awful definitely not.

My son didn't turn and I tried everything, but he'd been breech my whole pregnancy and at his birth we discovered it was due to a very short cord so he was not for turning.

It's more than possible to turn your baby, try to think positively and hopefully you will. Good luck.

My DD was breechbthe entire pregnancy and wouldn't turn - if yours had been head down recently through there's maybe a better chance it'll turn back. I chose not to try ECV as my mum had a horror story herself. Chose ELCS.

Mt 3rd was a breech. They tried turning him, but no joy. Later, I was at the hospital waiting to be induced at 41+ weeks. My breech turned while I was in the shower.

Thank you everyone.Perhaps sometimes baby just has its own secret plans!Nice to hear positive experiences from both ECV and caesarean point of view.

Had my ECV procedure today and it was successful!Overall a positive (if bizarre) experience and not half as bad as I was expecting!Hopeful now to continue on to as natural a delivery as possible.

I'm glad it worked! Here's hoping baby gets comfy now and doesn't flip over again. Good luck for the rest of the wait and the delivery :)

Glad it went well, my son chose breech position whilst I was trying to push!!! I then had to have c-section. I didn't mind as long as I got my baby in my arms. Hope it all goes well x
