Hey all,
So pregnancy has been a bit of a rollercoaster especially the last 4 weeks, at 26+6 I was in preterm labour and in hospital for 4 nights, even then had 2 episodes of reduced movements, since then have had another 3 episodes of reduced movements, no one can tell why as she seems to fine on the ctg machine and growth scans, last week I thought my waters had broke so went up, everything was fine, and over the last week has been very active, this morning she hasn't, I'm now 30+6 but they make me feel like i am being a nuisance for going up there so much, anyone have any advice?

Just go in again, they shouldn't make you feel like that. You need to ignore how they appear to be acting and do what is right for your baby, get checked out. It's better to get checked out a hundred times than to ignore if.

I’m sorry they’re making you feel that way because you’re absolutely right to get it checked out each time. How long do these periods last? Some babies are just less active but if it’s a change from her usual pattern then you should definitely get it checked out. One of my twins stopped moving and I had no idea - I just went in because I felt really unwell and thought my waters were leaking. He’s only here because I went in that day. Don’t let their attitude put you off.

Thanks I will ring up and see what they say, for the last week she has had a distinctive pattern, very active and today nothing, tried orange juice which normally gets her moving.

Please go in. I had reduced movements three times with my ds around 35 weeks.
Each time ctg was fine. Scans came back fine. Dopplers were good. His growth seemed to have slowed but they said he was still growing just not at the same rate.
I posted on here when I was 36 weeks because I figured I was just being a nuisance going in.
On the fourth occasion of telling my consultant how anxious I was and how I was feeling movements but they just aren't the same. They weren't as forceful as they had been. Consultant said they would induce me early even though there was no obvious signs of any issues with baby.
I gave birth at 37+2. My ds was taken straight to nicu. He weighed only 5lbs. (He had been on 90th + percentile at scans up to 32 weeks) my last scan at 37 weeks predicted him to weigh close to 7lbs.
He spent a week in nicu in an incubator. The cord was wrapped twice round his neck and the placenta was very calcified and possibly had a small rupture. He is now 8 weeks old and doing really well. He is now almost double his birth weight but I really can't even think about what may have happened if i hadn't kept going in our of the consultant hadn't listened and gone with her gut to get him out.
Im telling my story because honestly I nearly didn't go in. My mum noticed my anxiety the first time it happened and made me go. Even after the next two times my husband told me he thought I was just worrying too much. And a little part of me thought the same. Please go in every time you think they are different or less.
Chances are everything is fine but it is worth getting checked out and getting some reassurance from midwives. Thanks

I totally agree with the above. I had various issues for months and the time I went in is the only time and only because my midwife made me. Please go.

Probably best to double check...

However my baby has always has the odd few days where she's a little quieter than usual and then she picks up again. Almost like she's just having lazy days during a growth spurt.

I'm 37 weeks nows and have never really noticed a pattern of movement. And she still has days where she is quieter than others. But always moves just enough for me to not have a major panic.

Basically everything is probably okay but if you feel unsure you'll kick yourself for not going in, if you then find out should have!

Ah, just go in. It's worth feeling like a nuisance (though you aren't!!) if it means your baby is safe and well Flowers

Definitely go in! I had pre-eclampsia and kept going in for my BP (which I monitored at home) and got told off for checking my own BP by the midwife but every time I was admitted because it was so high. Most of the midwives would rather you go in, don't let one or two (who were probably having a long tough day) put you off!

Do go in. Always always worth getting this sort of thing checked. It's most likely fine but you'd struggle to forgive yourself if it wasn't. Plus you need to rest & relax and it's impossible to do that when you are worried xx
