Rear facing pushchairs... opinions?

I quite like the idea of a rear facing pushchair, I'd quite like to see my baby when I'm pushing along. I've also read they are better for a child's language development because you can chat more easily while walking along, and they can see your face while you're talking. Does anyone have any opinions? I've only seen one in Mamas and Papas (tbh I've not looked very hard!) which was pretty expensive, much more than forward facing ones, so is it worth the extra expense?

Loola can be folded with seat either way too.

i think i considered every rear facing pram trawled thru literature

there is just far too much choice!

I had a 2 in 1 pushchair for my two.

The body fit onto a chassis and the body of the pushchair could face either way and lie-flat.

I had 2 winter babies so I really liked the cosiness of the lie-flat, facing-me option when I took them out and it was cold.

The problem with the one I got was it was harder to push when used as a pushchair with the child facing forwards so i used a Maclaren buggy once DD1 was 7 months old, the following summer. When winter came round again, however, I had her sitting up in the big oushchair facing me again. I really enjoyed chatting to her and again, it offered a bit more cosy warmth during her second winter.

When DD2 came along, I used the pram less and used a sling more when we went out BUT, the lie-flat pram was an extremely useful place to put DD2 in the house during the day to keep her out of DD1's way. DD2 was in the pram for about 5 months anf got a lot of use out of it inside the house.

Bit confused about all the messages but if someone was looking to see the i-candy cherry in London they've got it in Daisy and Tom's on the King's Road.

Totally agree with those who say it's just a pram
The helping speech thing is a massive marketing con, I know children who speak brilliantly who always faced forward and children of the same age who barely speak at all who always faced backwards
I think Maclarens are fine for virtually all purposes and if you're thinking of having another maybe splash on a Phil & Ted
