Hi everyone

When did you get a pregnancy pillow if you decided to get one and at what stage of pregnancy?

Thank you!

I've never bothered with one. I think how much benefit you'll get depends on how you would normally sleep e.g. when I'm not pregnant I'd sleep on my side and slightly rolled over into my front (like the recovery position), for a couple of weeks when I started to get a bump all I needed was a normal pillow under my top knee to make my hips comfortable but soon got used to it and haven't needed anything since. If you're sleeping ok then it's probably best to wait and see if you need one as they can be quite expensive if you don't.

I got one quite early as I was having trouble sleeping (summer infant ultimate body comfort pillow from Amazon).

It was far too expensive for what it is as it doesn't help me at all as I'm too tall for it (5'10) so it doesn't sit as it should.

Luckily it can be used to put the baby in when it arrives though so will hopefully get some use out of it!

For the last month or so I have been using a normal pillow either between my legs or along my side depending on what is more comfortable at the time.

I got one early at about 11 weeks I think. I had been getting back and hip pain and I have found it really helps. I'm short so I the Kit for Kids cuddle me pillow is fine for me (to be honest I mostly only use it between my knees/ankles anyway, or under my top knee if I'm sleeping in 'recovery position' like pp). We found it half price (about 22 quid I think) which is an acceptable price and can also be used for baby when she arrives so I'm happy with the cost.

Mine was from Mothercare and it came into play when I was 23 weeks. I sleep on my side and my bump felt like it was dragging so I rested it on the pillow.

I have a BB Hug Me. Stupidly expensive for what it is but I loved it and still use it now (DS is 17 weeks). I got it quite early on, probably around 12 weeks. I used it when I was sleeping to support my bump. Even after having a c section I liked using it at night as it stopped me rolling too much. I now use it to lean against in bed if I'm feeding or settling DS and it goes into a donut shape for DS to sit on (not unattended).

I’ve just started using a dream genii at 18 weeks to help with SPD. I got it for way less than half price with an extra cover from TK Maxx. Score!

Anyone know what works well for a tall woman (5 foot 10)? Finding it hard to get comfortable (18 weeks so still a long way to go!) but don't want to waste my money!

Kittypillar · 30/04/2018 22:40

Got mine at around 22 weeks I think, also a dream genii - I price watched on Amazon for a while and got it when it was reduced to something around £35. Not an essential for everyone but I can't sleep without it now.

I just got one from Costco. It was just a body pillow, but loved cuddling it. It also came in useful when dds were born, I could feed lying down.

I have a Dream Genii too. Got it on eBay during my last pregnancy and it helped SO much, I was looking forward to getting it out this time!
