22+4, anterior placenta, still can’t feel movement

So I am getting closer to 24 weeks and still haven’t felt any movement from the baby that I can be certain is movement. Ofcourse I have an anterior placenta so they said it could take a while. But every day that I feel nothing i just get a bit more worried. If I don’t feel anything by my next midwife appt at 24 weeks then I will let her know. Just wondering if anyone else has or has had the same experience?

I was the same upto about 26 weeks it was "hmm was that movements? Was it gas?" Now at 29weekd my poor ribs most definitely feel movements. I still feel nothing at the front. Mostly low down in my pelvis, in my ribs or bits of her sticking out of my sides. Suprisingly I also feel her movements in my lower back. Hopefully once little one gets a bit bigger baby will be kicking up a storm. Xx

@rosiecotton that has reassured me, I guess I just got to be patient and wait a bit longer for him to get bigger. Does it really hurt? Movements and kicks to ribs etc ? As a first time Mum I’m just wondering what it will be like

I have a posterior placenta and felt nothing till 21 weeks, friends (and i dont know placenta positions) were 23, 24 and 26 weeks respectively, two of those were quite petite women too.

I was the same until 28 weeks. Try not to worry

I have an anterior placenta and didn't feel anything that I could definitely say were baby movements until more like 24/25 weeks, and it's my second baby so I should know what I'm looking for! Even now at 27 weeks I can go for long periods without feeling anything, I think it's because the baby is still small enough to hide behind the placenta for a large proportion of the day.

I've had anterior placentas in both pregnancies. With my first I could only feel him in certain positions on my side and even then from around 24 weeks. This time around I've felt this one from 16 weeks so I think actual position of the baby counts for a lot too as well as the placenta.

I never felt many movements with my anterior placenta. In hindsight, some of the things i took to be movements were probably braxton hicks, though it felt like the baby was almost stretching. Maybe he was.

I had anterior placenta on my second. Didn't feel movements until 24/25 weeks compared to 18/19 weeks with the first. They were always more muted on the 2nd too. Midwife will listen to heartbeat at 24 weeks so that will be reassuring.

Don’t worry it will come. Mine started at 26 weeks. 30 weeks now and it’s constant!

I was exactly the same. Anterior placenta and couldn't feel a thing. At 23+5 they scanned me and listened to her moving on the Doppler but I still couldn't feel a thing :( Around 24 weeks I finally felt twitches and flutters and she hasn't really stopped since! At 31 weeks her movements are sometimes a little muffled, so don't feel like you can't call if your worried. I've been in twice now with reduced movements due to my placenta and the midwives are always happy to check me over Smile

Another anterior placenta here and I didn’t feel proper movement until 24 weeks, which the sonographer and midwife said was totally normal.

Thankyou ladies, I’m more at ease now from all of your comments xx
