Off sick and bored

I'm 28 weeks with mcda twins. I was signed off at 16 weeks with hyperemesis and spent 8 weeks in bed with it. For the past 4 weeks I have been able to manage the nausea (with medication) enough that I can do around 6-8 hrs out of bed a few times a weeks. However, my spd is now so bad that I can barely walk and in addition to that I have preexisting Fibromyalgia which is in full flare.

I have been signed off now until my mat leave starts but it's mentally destroying me. I cannot go to work (I'm a secondary teacher) but I equally cannot cope with being trapped at home, especially since I can't even do things like housework.

I don't even know why I'm posting really, I'm just not good at being off sick and usually fight through it but I am unable to do that right now. My midwife has also advised me not to due to the risk of prem labour with twins.

:-( feel so sorry for you nails you must be so bored :-(

How about listening to audio books? Or podcasts? Or making a photo album of picture pre-twins?

You really have my sympathy, it sounds truly awful :-(

Audible I’d awesome! You can sign up for a free trial and see how you like it.
Sounds like you’re having a rotten pregnancy, I really feel for you! How about starting a blog to keep you focused and busy? You might find s community of others who’re really suffering with pregnancy symptoms building up around it Smile

Depends what you like I guess :-) London school of economics have podcasts for free, BBC have lots of topics, radio 4 have audio books too :-) Ted talks are on almost any topic you can imagine!!

Hope you find something you fancy, you're having such a rough time :-(

Agree audio books and podcasts are a good way to past the time.
Dunno what you like but I listened to The Martian by Andy Weir, 11.22.63 by Stephen King and Girl on a Train and they were really good!
Podcasts I listen to which I recommend are The Guilty Feminist, and Giovanna Fletcher Happy mum Happy Baby. There's also a few true crime ones which are really good.
Hope you start to pick up. I have HG too and had to spend 3 weeks off sick and I started to go a bit insane so I can't imagine how you're feeling x

Poor you!

You could start knitting (hobby craft have loads of stuff for beginners), make some photo albums/ pregnancy journals, Netflix, eBaying/ online shopping stuff for the twins, if you feel up to it take an online course or study something.

It sucks being stuck inside and having cabin fever- hope you start to feel a bit better soon!

Have you been referred to a physio for the SPD? They gave me some ideas to help manage it
