Travel insurance?

Hello,
We are going to Spain on Tuesday for a week. I will be 18+3 when we go. I was just looking through all our documents and found on our travel insurance there is no mention of me being pregnant? (My dp sorted it all out), is that something that needs to be declared or is it not counted as a medical condition?
Thank you 😊

I'm going to new York in 2 weeks and phoned about insurance as wondered if I had to declare pregnancy, they said that as long as I was within the airline restrictions then it's fine. Maybe worth calling them to check.

Pregnancy isn't an illness, so as long as your GP/midwife/consultant haven't said you can't fly you are fine to do so up to the airline restriction and you don't have to mention it to the insurance company.

However if you go through security and are subject to a body check it may be worth telling them you are pregnant. I didn't and had to deal with a very puzzled security staff member who couldn't work out what was wrong with my stomach.

Not correct. Most insurance includes complications relating to pregnancy but I’d give them a call and check. You are going at 18wks so if something happens it will be medical management for you. Any insurance I checked had a cut off of 28weeks despite being able to travel well beyond that. Also keep in mind if you travel after 24 weeks, your insurance may cover your labour and baby’s medical care but not cover you being stuck in that country with a preemie for months and months. Unable to leave without your baby etc.

You will be fine, and as a PP said, the thing you need is that the baby is covered if you’re over 24 weeks
