Evening Smile

My DD is starting to get a nice collection of baby bits, so we were wondering what is best, to wash them in?

Thank you Flowers

I’ve gone with Fairy liquitabs and comfort pure fabric softener 😊

PenApple · 23/04/2018 21:45

The washing machine.

Sorry Wink

FrozenMargarita17 · 23/04/2018 21:46

I just used the same stuff I do for our clothes so she would get used to it and I could do everything together.

Lots of people use non-bio fairy though so it's whatever you feel is best!

FrogCow · 23/04/2018 21:47

Whatever’s on offer at the supermarket. And some of that oxy powder stuff for the shite stains.

bluerunningshoes · 23/04/2018 21:49

whatever detergent you usually use.
apart from the perfume there is not a lot difference between them.

Itsnotmesothere · 23/04/2018 21:51

Damn. Got beaten to the washing machine joke! I use fairy powder. I used to use organic "non toxic" stuff but I found it didn't really cut it. I need Vanish too, for obvious reasons.
I like to half the amounts recommended and double his clothes.

Itsnotmesothere · 23/04/2018 21:51

Double rinse*

welshweasel · 23/04/2018 21:53

Didn’t wash anything before it was worn. Once worn it went in with the rest of the family’s washing, so Aldi’s own brand bio liquid.

FrogCow · 23/04/2018 21:55

Oh and I never washed before I used them for the first time either. Didn’t see the point.

slippermaiden · 23/04/2018 21:56

Any non bio washing powder as it's better for sensitive skin.

Miha17 · 23/04/2018 21:57

Napisan for all baby clothes. Recommended by Jo Frost (super nanny)

Sushirolls · 23/04/2018 22:19

Thanks all Flowers

Non bio detergent. Napisan for stains, especially yellow poo stains on the legs of vests. No fabric conditioner.

TheChineseChicken · 24/04/2018 07:39

I just use bio and fabric conditioner (we have hard water and clothes come out crisp without it). DD gets mild eczema if we use the wrong bath stuff but the bio detergent doesn't affect it

namechanger200 · 24/04/2018 07:47

I use and have always used either tesco/Wilko/Asda non bio liquid and tesco/wilko/Asda fabric softener since DS was a baby always been fine! Also just the bog standard tesco spray stain remover - was actually very surprised by how good it was at getting those gag worthy tricky stains out!!! Grin

Buglife · 24/04/2018 07:53

I’ll probably start with non bio for the babies clothes but I know DS1 doesn’t react to anything, never even had nappy rash, so if this baby is similar I’ll switch back to Bio as it just cleans better. There’s nothing to say Bio is something that all babies would react to. I had a stain remover spray I could spray on the worst poo and later food stains before I stuck them in the wash. I think I lasted about 2 weeks washing baby stuff separately, then it just went in with appropriate colours in the general wash. Although I might try have a bucket for baby stuff by the machine just to make sorting out clothes a bit easier as there will be 4 of us.

RoundaboutSnail · 24/04/2018 07:57

Liquid Surcare most of the time. Bio if necessary but with extra rinses.

NimbleKnitter · 24/04/2018 08:08

Non- Biological washing powder is a marketing thing, pretty much exclusive to the U.K.

Most other countries just have bio powder, without any impact on sensitive skin.

All non-bio does is wash your clothes less well (saying this as someone who's has eczema her whole life)

NoParticularPattern · 24/04/2018 08:11

I was everything (even our stuff) in fairy non bio. Just because I like the smell of it. Plus whatever fabric conditioner is on offer. Cold soak for any poo stains and an extra rinse is usually sufficient. Vanish (or Lidl’s equivalent) if not

thiskitten · 24/04/2018 08:18

Filetti is wonderful and so is surcare - recommend both.

Oysterbabe · 24/04/2018 09:52

I used our powder, which would have been whatever was on offer in Tescos.

lozdaniellexxx · 24/04/2018 10:35

Iv just started to wash our baby girls clothes before she is here and I used Waitrose's Mini Range which is specifically for new borns and midwife approved. Was reasonably priced too and smells lovely :)
