Hello, new mum to be here!

I am hoping to breastfeed and haven't got any bottles/steriliser as was hoping to do it exclusively. I'm now panicking what happens if I cannot do it, baby doesn't latch etc.

Should I go and buy all the equipment in case of?! If so what would you recommend I need?

Thank you!

@GummyGoddess never heard of that - are you sure there wasn't something additional there? Volume of colostrum is tiny and all BF babies lose weight initially which was always explained to me as 'normal'. BFd both my two and my memory with my first was panicking he was not getting any milk from me on day 3 or 4 and MW laughing at me and going 'far too early to worry' then he weed for the first time when we got all his clothes off for the weigh which proved in fact he was getting plenty.
You don't need to give a baby the volume of liquid you give in a bottle in the first few days and a MW will tell you if she's worried (usually if they lose 10% or more of their weight, I seem to remember).

I did not by bottles, steriliser etc as I had planned on EBF. EBF was fine so no problem for us. Plan B would have been a trip to out big Tesco - anything you need is there.

both of mine EBF put in about 10% of their birth weight in the first week. It's not true that all BF loose weight.
