Advice needed please.
I'm currently 12 - 4 weeks, and for the past 2 weeks eating has become a horrible experience. Just a small amount of food makes me feel uncomfortably full, bloated, and full of wind (sorry tmi!) Half a portion of cereal feels like a huge Sunday roast sat in my stomach.
Is anyone else suffering with this? Any advice on how to improve it would be appreciated xx

I had this too around the same time as you, unfortunately I don't know how to make it stop - mine went away on it's own. Think it lasted about 2-3 weeks.

I’ve had that since the start (9+4 now) with some NVP too. Ive also had almost constant diarroeah with accompanying cramps. It’s been an utterly miserable first trimester so far (with this combined with other factors) and pregnancy seriously doesn’t agree with my digestive system.

I find that if I ever get any kind of temptation to eat anything, I just indulge it. (Yesterday all I managed was a pot noodle, of all things). I also try (and often fail) to eat tiny portions regularly rather than big meals and if I walk past the fruit bowl, I try to make myself have half a banana (whole one is too much).

I’ve also found home made smoothies really helpful as not solid. So for many nights I’ve had oats, soya yoghurt, spinach, carrot, grapes, raspberries and banana thrown into the nutribullet. That always seems to sit more comfortably in my tum (and is undoubtedly better than a pot noodle!)

Family dinners are out of the question and my dog is getting fat on all my leftovers!

Good luck, and I hope it’s a very short stage for you, it can be really miserable can’t it xx

Smoothies is a good idea, I'll give that a try tomorrow, cheers :-)

I found fibre did this for a while - I had to have a bland diet of rice and basic things (I think porridge was ok) and avoid brown bread (which I love) etc. It helped a little then it settled down. Now I'm positively embracing the fibre to keep me regular!

There's two sorts of fibre; iirc the porridge one was better.

I don't know if it helped but I took a probiotic to see if it settled things, no idea if it was that or just time.

I had that from about 5 weeks to 17 weeks, then the bloating finally went away and I could eat more normally. None of the normal things that help with bloating when not pregnant, helped. :/

Later in pregnancy I experienced this off and on as well, it wasn't bloating but rather due to the baby's position encroaching on my stomach.

Hi I had this basically from when I found out I was pregnant all the way through with DS!

I tried all sorts and spent a fortune on Deflatine and eventually found ginger supplements helped as they help digestion. I've since recommended them to friends suffering with bloating and they've found they helped too.

This time I've been taking ginger since I found out and although I've had the odd day where it's been bad, it's been nothing like my first pregnancy. When I hit the second trimester it got worse and someone on here recommended activated charcoal tablets which have helped a bit when it's got bad. I've now upped my ginger dosage and feeling fine again!

Try it, it's cheap too! x

I've found drinking 2 or 3 cups of peppermint tea everyday is helpful for this. Hope you feel better soon
