How many a day when pregnant?
I have tried decaf and I don't like it. I've had 2 cups today but I'm dying for another.

I don't like decaf - I've tried a range but find despite everyone's protests they do not taste normal to me! - but a friend taught me a great tip: make a pot with 1 bag normal and 2 bags decaf. you can have more cups that taste normal but with less caffeine! Genius.

Do you like Earl Grey? Sainsbury's home brand is lovely and tastes just like the real thing!

Yorkshire tea decaf is the best I’ve found!

Why would the size of the mug make a difference with tea? The caffeine comes from a single tea bag regardless. If anything, the more water added, the more dilute each sip of tea is.

Because most people like their tea a consistent strength, so they take the tea bag out of a small cup quicker so it doesn't become over strong. Most people wouldn't have a mug that was twice as dilute as a cup, so it's not just the same amount of tea with more water.

@EffRam I'm stealing that idea! Brilliant!

80% of the caffeine in a tea bag is released in the first 30s. So after that, you might as well have your big mugful as you've got almost all the caffeine anyway.

anyway quite honestly the way most people make tea, there will be very little caffeine in,. They just show the tea bag to a cup of hot (not boiling) water and that's it. If i am ever round at someones house and they offer me tea, I ask them to leave the tea bag in, too many cups of hot watery milk been offered over the years.

Persevere with the decaf, it's all we drink now. Comes in earl grey if your feeling posh. Or what about rooibos tea, yummy. I'm off to make one now.

Another vote for clipper decaf, I find it the same except maybe not as strong. I also like knowing that it is not decaffeinated using chemicals like many brands are.
