im 35 weeks & baby has been breech for the past 3 weeks. I wasnt told if complete breech or footling breech but im guessing footling as OMG the pain in my pelvis is horrific when shes moving her wee feet. Feels like im being stabbed from the inside its soooo unpleasant and i actually cried earlier with the pain lol
Anyone else have the same?

Yes!!! I'm currently 38+5 but baby was breech until 34 weeks. His most active time was around 10pm when I was trying to go asleep, I'd lie there exhausted crying from the kicks to my cervix, they took my breath away!
I followed some of the tips on the spinning babies website and he turned on his own 20 mins before my 34 week midwife appointment where we were due to discuss next steps in getting him to turn!

Oh smurfy im totally the same! It started when i was in the shower before bed and continued for hours, last nights was the worst yet. Sometimes it feels like shes trying to turn but hasnt enough room as she lies sideways for a while then moves back again after wriggling for ages.
I had a look on the spinning babies site but im too scared to do anything as id low lying placenta up til 3 weeks ago when she turned and the placenta moved too.
Ive actually woke up this morning with brown spotting and feel really periody. I had the spotting plus brown clotting a few weeks ago but everything was fine thankfully, just one of those unexplainable things, tho mw thinks i lost my plug

I had it with DD although I didn’t know she was footling breech at the time. I found out when her feet and legs came out in the hospital car park! But I well remember that pain when she kicked downwards, it took my legs away from me on a couple of occasions! (She’s nearly 5!)

Smurfybubbles · 18/04/2018 08:37

Mine spent a lot of time transverse too which in itself brought a whole new level of discomfort!
I spent a lot of time just on all fours on the living room floor or on the bed when the kicks got bad, gently moves them away from your cervix without having to dangle off an ironing board over the sofa (spinning babies) ! Hopefully yours will turn by them self, then it's your ribs in the firing line Grin

Omg KT how did your labour go, that sounds scary!! Your labour must have been a quick one was it?
My first i was in slow labour for 4 days then hours with no progression ending in emcs. With my second i was 14 hrs. So no doubt if i was to go into labour itd prob end up with emcs.
Smurfy that made me LOL! I was looking at that website thinking wtf i can barely walk let alone crawl down stairs on my hands, dont even think i could do that whilst not pregnant. So bloody dangerous lol
I will try the hands and knees thing when she starts kicking me sore again, anything for a bit of ease. My ribs got it for months b4 she turned but id rather that than her breech. Her heads up under my ribs anyway so its much the same lol

It was! 3hrs from first twinge to DD being here. It was bizarrely my easiest too, I think once I realised something wasn’t right (she’s my 2nd) that the pain was overtaken by adrenaline. I gave birth standing up because it was easier, and we were home 7 hours later! Will your hospital do a natural (I hate that word but can’t think of a proper alternative) or a section? Mine only let me deliver because she was already halfway out Grin

ThreeAfter30 · 18/04/2018 09:59

Wow that was quick! Lol. And they say footling breech are very difficult to deliver. You got lucky 😊
I sincerely doubt ill be allowed to do a natural, but with footling breech i dont think it would be a good idea anyway as i had long labours previously, baby in distress both times and very nearly ended up with emcs with dc2 as well. Plus because of my scarring from dc1s emcs im not allowed to move about in labour, have to have monitors on which is crap as it makes it longer not being mobile.
I would so love a natural though which is why im praying she turns. Esp cause i know being away from me for longer than a night or 2 would be distressing for my autistic 4 year old so thats playing on my mind too, knowing a section means more time in hospital.
Ive an apt with the obstetrician next tuesday and if shes still breech then we'll discuss my options. Heres hoping for a positive outcome.

I did get very lucky I have to say. She had her arms folded across her chest which meant they didn’t get stuck which can be an issue apparently.
Aye that makes sense, DS1 is autistic and I was panicking when I had DS2 because it involved leaving him overnight! (With DD he was in bed and didn’t even realise we’d left him in the house with my mum Grin) but he was ok, and I was able to call him regularly because I explained about his anxiety.
I hope everything goes smoothly for you when the time comes Smile

ThreeAfter30 · 18/04/2018 13:49

Thank you mrs 😊
I understand completely about the anxiety, my dd is the same though i have tried to prepare her for the past few weeks explaining that i may have to stay in hospital for a while. Hopefully she'll be fine 😊

In the end I was more anxious than DS1! Have you found any social stories online that could help ease your DDs anxiety? They’ve been a real help to us over the years (all 3 of mine and me are diagnosed)
