Currently having a meltdown because of the nausea I'm 8 weeks it's only really started in the past week. I'm so happy I'm having another baby but I never felt like this with my 1st I feel so bad for crying but it's really getting me down, eating was helping at one point but now I just feel the same when I eat it's constant nausea and I'm sick of eating and the sight of food! Anyone else had this 🙁

I had no nausea at all in my first pregnancy, but have been feeling sick since about 5+4. Now 7+2 and it has been getting worse. Starts at about 11.30am each day and hangs around. Sometimes food temporarily makes it better, but it really does;t last for long. I have only been sick once, but the feeling hungover all the time is horrible.

I'm the same had nothing in first pregnancy and now I seem to have it full whack. That's exactly how I feel it's like a constant hangover food was helping at first but I'm at the point now I'm sick of eating it turns my stomach the thought of it because of this sicky feeling

I completely sympathise. I've had terrible all day nausea since week 5 and it's easing slightly now. It's been incredibly hard as a solo weekday mother of two with a business to run. Do you have a sympathetic GP who could prescribe anti sickness meds? I should've got some and was really close as it significant impacted my day to day life and even at 12 weeks I'm in bed feeling terrible.

Do NOT feel bad for crying...it is absolutely miserable feeling nauseous all the time!

I had constant nausea from 5 weeks till delivery (although much milder towards the end). It was soul destroying!

The NICE guidelines on NAUSEA and vomiting in pregnancy (NVP) do not state that you need to have both in order to be prescribed anti-emetics. I started on Cyclyzine at about 7 weeks and the vomiting didn't start till 8 weeks, and I assume the Cyclyzine delayed the vomiting at least a tiny bit.

Google PUQE Score (google images) it is a recognised "quiz" for determining how severe/ debilitating NVP is, I was scoring moderate before I had actually vomited!

I kept crying be a use I was so hungry but everything u was offered made me sock to my stomach.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one feeling like this. I've got a gp appointment in the morning for the nausea so hopefully they'll give me something as it's getting abit much now I feel abit of a drama queen but it really is getting me down knowing I'm going to be feeling like this day in day out 🙁

Oh you poor thing. Yes, mine is just easing off at 14 weeks. Weeks 8 to 10 seemed to be the worse. I broke down in tears in the super market in the in chicken and meat section. It was just too much and I thought I would always feel sick forever. But it does ease off! X

firstgo1984 · 17/04/2018 20:59

Let us know how you get on at GP. I am considering asking for some cyclizine myself, as it is really affecting my day to day life and work.

firstgo1984 · 17/04/2018 21:02

Just done the PUQE-24 score myself and have come out with a score of 7 (moderate) with only that one vomit a few days ago. Its the 10 hours of constant nausea that does it.

BumbleNova · 17/04/2018 21:02

I had to get drugs for my nausea OP. It's not just you! I literally couldn't eat I felt so terrible. It was also waking me up in the early hours of the morning too.

Maedoula · 17/04/2018 21:04

@Lmj25 I had exactly the same in last few days but it's settled down now thank god. Felt sick when I was hungry then felt sick after I ate...then I cried!

It will calm down soon x

Bluebirdsky · 17/04/2018 21:06

It's totally rubbish and there is actually no shame in crying about it. For me the constant nausea was worse than actually being sick.
I wore the sea bands on my wrists, not really sure if they helped or not but kept them on just in case. Don't take pregnacare tablets, these definitely made me worse.
My GP eventually prescribed me something and I was signed off of work for a couple of weeks. Which did help.
Definitely go and see your GP if you are struggling. Thanks

Lmj25 · 17/04/2018 21:11

So glad im not the only one as daft as it sounds lol! I'm definitely going to push for gp to give me something as it's wearing me down. I'm the same with food I'm sick of seeing it the thought of eating drains me I think the nausea is the worst part I've not even been sick yet I really hope that doesn't start as this is just about pushing me to the edge lol Envy

I sympathise. In my first pregnancy I was only occasionally nauseous/sick, but this time it was relentless - vomiting up to 15 times a day from week 6 to week 20.

I suspected from early on there was something odd about it - and sure enough it's twins. Not to scare you or anything!! Shock

Hidethebump · 17/04/2018 21:14

Don’t feel bad nausea is the absolute pits. I’ve had not only nausea but a horrendous headache and it’s had me feeling tearful.
Are you using a pregnacare or pregnancy multivitamin?
I saw a thread on here earlier today with women saying they thought it made sickness worse.
I think it did and I’ve switched to basic folic acid and separate vitamin d and feeling much better. That’s all the nhs recommend you take anyway.

gryffen · 17/04/2018 21:28

Hiya

I was lucky not to have any MS or nausea in first pregnancy but I had loads this time round from week 10-16 - wasn't majorly bad but I remember the crying as you feel like total shite.

Trick that worked for me is Olbas Oil on a hanky and breathe it in, just enjoy the smell and slight nose burn you will get but it does help.

TCP or Dettol works too.

Chin up mama - it does get better.
