Face masks in pregnancy

Have any of you used a face mask while pregnant? I miss my old skin care regime (I know I can’t use those products)
I’m just hoping there is a face mask I can use for a little pamper :)

I use the blueberry one from lush, nice and cold from the fridge. They have a selection and I assume they assume perfectly fine to use during pregnancy 😊

This may have changed but I believe most Kiehls products (except the range that’s supposed to be for acne) are ok during pregnancy. Just double check the ingredients as I take you know what you need to avoid, or pop in and talk to one of their staff.

Lush are all natural and they know the ingredients inside out- also you could make your own which is fun.

VITAMIN A is an issue along with a few other things so avoid them and all good.

My skincare is basic Witch hazel liquid and Tea Tree scrub with a weekly banana and oat mask made up in minutes.

Why can't you use your normal products?

jamoncrumpets · 16/04/2018 21:49

I use Garnier tissue masks once a week, they're such a treat!

AssassinatedBeauty · 16/04/2018 21:55

(Lush products are not all natural, they use what they call safe synthetics in a lot of products.)

squiglyline · 16/04/2018 22:40

@AssassinatedBeauty
I normally would use Elizabeth Arden Ceramide but it is loads with vitamin A.

I use simple face cleanser and toner and E45 cream now but haven’t been doing my charcoal clay face mask as I’m not 100% sure so I emailed the company but not heard back yet.

Just wondered what store bought face masks others used x

I really wouldn't worry about it all that much. No baby or expectant mother was ever harmed by a face mask.

AssassinatedBeauty · 16/04/2018 23:01

As long as you're not eating them, the possibility of the tiny tiny amounts that might be absorbed by your skin aren't going to cause any issues.

TroubledLichen · 17/04/2018 02:24

I don’t think it’s so much about the risk to the baby but more that your skin is so much more sensitive so products containing vitamin A, retinoids, acids etc. aren’t recommended as they’ll do more harm than good to your skin.
