I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I couldn't find much information online and figured people's personal experiences might help me.
I had my first LO last year. My BMI was around 46 when I got pregnant and 48 by the time I had him. There was no real problems with me getting pregnant or throughout my pregnancy. My blood pressure and body was fine, I didn't get gestational diabetes to most the medical professionals surprise and had a gorgeous 9lb healthy baby.
But, I want to be healthier for my baby, I want a 2nd LO, I don't want the pressure and worry of my weight, I don't want people to look down on me for having a 2nd baby while i am still fat.
I have now lost 2 and a half stone since new year and still going strong.
But, health professionals obviously all say a bmi of 18 to 25 is healthiest. But what is the maximum bmi i can have without needing all the extra care and scans.
Has anyone had a bmi of 25 to 30? Or 30 to 35? Or more and still needed the extra care because of your weight? I wanted to try for baby number 2 in September, but I really don't think my bmi will be 25 or below by then. Probably more around the 31 mark.
How will this impact on mine and my babies health?
Any advice or experiences I would be extremely grateful.
