Slapped cheek

Well as the title says, my child has slapped cheek, she has the rash so I've read she's not contagious anymore but says that it's a risk to pregnancy.
I'm 30wks pregnant and I'm sure I've read it's there's only a slight percent chance it could have an effect on the baby under 30weeks.
I've text my midwife but as it's Saturday I'm not going to get a reply and I'm seeing the nurse on Monday so I'm thinking of asking for a blood test then.
I'm ok right? Xx

AFAIK it’s not considered problematic after 20 weeks, but do check with MW to be sure.

My ds started nursery when I was 8 weeks pregnant and I remember my mw telling me to ask nursery to alert me if any cases of slapped cheek. She said it was dangerous before 20 weeks. You can have a blood test to see if you are immune though but I'm sure at your stage there is no problem.

Slapped cheek has been the worry of my life recently! I'm only 14 weeks now though. My dd's school has had loads of children with it. The real pain is that you don't know you have it until the rash comes out and then they aren't contagious anyway!

I don't think you need to worry at 30 weeks, its early pregnancy that it can cause problems. Defo mention it to your mw though, they may still test you to make sure your immune.

They can test a new sample of blood, but your hospital should also have kept a sample of the blood they took when you booked and they can test and see if you were immune then. That can usually be arranged over the phone.

I wrote a post about this last week. My dc has slap cheek and I'm 5 weeks pregnant. I was advised to get a blood test to see if I was immune.

I had slapped cheek during pregnancy last year but pre 20 weeks. The Gp did a blood test firstly so probably worth doing that if in any doubt.

Thanks for the replies, I didn't think it would effect me that much being 30weeks and I've text my midwife just incase , I'm seeing the nurse Monday for my whooping cough injection so I'll mention it then xx

You can ask midwife to add it on to your booking bloods to see if you are already immune (you may be) if you are then no issue anyway , if not then they can recheck your immunity in a couple of weeks time to
see if you are now immune - ie have you caught from your daughter . If already immune or don't develop subsequent immunity then there's no issue anyway
(I've just had to do this having been exposed to a couple of confirmed parvovirus kids at work)
