Buying baby stuff after 6 years off - what are the new must haves?

Am pregnant with DD3 - almost all my newborn and small baby stuff is from my eldest 6 years ago, and in many cases quite battered about after being reused with our very spewy DD2. We have some vouchers and lovely family who want to buy us presents, but don't quite know where to start.

Are there some helpful items that have come out in the meantime and we might not have? Or things that are so great you'd buy even for one baby (she will be our last!!)

It's not popular on here, but our perfect prep has been very useful since we were forced to FF. Also a Milton cold water steriliser. DD refused to ever sleep in a proper cot, but loves her travel cot and I'll use one for DC2 due in a few weeks too.

Chicco next 2 me.

We also have a Shnuggle baby bath which DD loved. Wasn't happy in a standard lie back bath. Took up a lot less room than a baby bath. We felt it was £20 well spent. Would like a sleepyhead, but definitely need vouchers for that one! I made a baby nest myself and she slept on a folded up feather duvet when she outgrew it. Still does. The health visitor wouldn't endorse that, but it worked for us.

Tuppence and Crumble star wrap (pricey new but lots second hand on eBay)

Similar gap, I just got the same basics.
Cot/pram/car seat/bouncy chair/bath/steriliser and bottles.

The biggest thing people seem to have now is a next to me type cot. I didn't feel it necessary. Same with video monitors.

Sleepyhead and perfect prep.

You absolutely need to look into hiring a bednest! It’s brilliant and I wish I’d known about it with DC1 and 2. Thankfully I was able to experience it with DC3! Their customer service is amazing and it’s so so so so easy to use!! Congratulations on the pregnancy and welcome to the club of mum of 3!

These are great!! I've been a bit daunted by the prospect of three DCs and having had a couple of miscarriages also, it's been hard to get as excited about this pregnancy - but looking at all the adorable baby stuff (and adorable babies), am getting much more excited! Please do keep them coming...

Second the sleepyhead and the Tuppence & Crumble star wrap - never bothered with any kind of pram suit because the star wrap is excellent I'd have a sidecar crib for baby 2.

We've also got a shnuggle bath and 7 months on I still love it!

Sleepyhead! Had one for dc2 and so wished it had been available for dc1. Made a huge difference to sleep, both mine were windy but the Sleepyhead means you can prop them slightly on their side which helps so much. Also means you don't need a moses basket or bednest or whatever, just put the sleepyhead on the bed next to you at night and bring it downstairs in the day.

Star wrap is great too, especially for transferring a baby who's fallen asleep and needs to be moved from cot to buggy or vice versa.

White noise - I have the marpac hussshh which plays all night, but is also portable, that would have been very handy for dc1 too.
