Since I was 14 weeks (now 15+5) I've been having aches in my tummy. They aren't exactly cramps, but the kind of ache you get when you've got a jippy tummy and need to go to the toilet. Or similar to the growing aches you get in your leg when your a child but it's worrying me! Is it normal?? Is it just growing pains or is it something more sinister? No blood, no pains, just aches...

I've been having the same. I'm 15+2. I assume it's normal but will be watching this thread!

I've had similar sounding cramps at a similar stage courtesy of constipation and trapped wind Blush

Could yours be similar?

I get the odd pain Im 16 weeks, yesterday I had sharp stabbing pain which wasn't fun and occasionally I get achy pains on what feels like the sides of my uterus.
I was told by my midwife if the pain isn't prolonged and there's no blood you shouldn't worry. I also read on bounty that at this stage the baby can start playing with the umbilical cord, they can grip it / tug it or kick it which apparently can feel painful or achy.

Completely normal - don't worry

The baby starts playing on the umbilical cord?! Omg that's crazy!!! I did read that aches and mild pains in second trimester are normal... am having some unpleasant twinges now in fact!

Baby2018 · 10/04/2018 21:35

@surveygirl1987 I was surprised as well! I read it in my Bounty update today. I dont think its something the baby does all the time but they said at this stage they can do it and it can hurt a little or feel like a tug haha

I think there are of course other pains or aches that are your uterus or muscles it's not always them being little tinkers playing with the cord!
