Endometriosis help

I am also going to post this in infertility and conception so hopefully one of the three will be a hit...

A bit of background to start with. We have a 3yo DC that was conceived instantly. We weren't trying and just had a happy surprise. In September 2015 we decided that we were going to try for our second so we would have a nice age gap. However between then and now we have not had a hint of a positive even though we have put a lot of effort in.

I went to my gp for help and we were started on the way to fertility investigations. My OH has 4% morphology but his motility and count is really high so they haven't seen that as a problem. Despite this though he has started a healthy eating diet and upped his exercise to help. I have had my bloods done and (from what I can remember) they are normal for my age of 35. I'm aware though at 35 time is running out in terms of quality and quantity.

I have recently had a laparoscopy that came up with my ovaries and tubes being clear and bilateral. They removed superficial endometriosis from my POD and flushed my system.

When looking online it says that superficial endometriosis shouldn't cause infertility, yet when I saw my consultant he was really positive and said we should find things easier now. Which is right though? It was o my superficial so why was he so positive? Was it just to give me false hope? Positive thinking?

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate the advice. My hope for a baby is quite fragile so I'm just researching like crazy and it's driving me insane!

I finally got a diagnosis of endometriosis last September and had it removed in October. Mine was quite extensive, having had it since I was young but without anyone managing to diagnose. I finally pushed it because it been ttc for 2 years with no luck. The consultant was really sure I'd be pregnant within 6 months. I got pregnant the first month after my surgery. I'm now 24 weeks. I didn't believe him, but I'm so grateful they found it!

I had very similar to you by the sounds of things (lap and removing disease from POD) and my consultant said the same thing about conceiving being easier. I had a few years between my surgery and trying to conceive, but when we started trying we conceived faster than we thought we would.

@Squishcheese thank you for your reply. I'm hoping it's the start of a more positive ttc journey. X

I has endometriosis removed from all over my pelvis including by my bladder and my left ovary 'unstuck' from my pelvic wall. I had the mirena put in during surgery to try to preserve what they'd done. Fast forward three years and I had the mirena out and 3 weeks later I conceived. I'm currently 30 weeks with my first at age 37. I do think it made a massive difference as I'd not conceived before having surgery despite not being overly careful.

@GottaBeStrong that's a fantastic story! Congratulations on your baby xx

I Had my lap last July. POD and right ovary had endometriosis and I only have one tube. Fell pregnant next cycle.

We werent overly trying before but I had not finished a pill packet for a while.

Currently 39 weeks pregnant. Ovulation sticks may help so you know your cycle. Good luck.

I have endo and pcos, and had my third lap in January to remove superficial endo in the pouch of Douglas and also to have ovarian drilling. Fell pregnant a month later! Only 10 weeks so not in safe zone yet but it can happen 😌 if your tubes are clear you’re in with s god chance xx

I'd been TTC for almost 3 years when I finally got pregnant but unfortunately miscarried. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and cysts. Had a lap done 6 months later and then got pregnant the very next month.
I'm mid 30s too so understand your worry. Overall its taken 4 years of TTC to get to this point but I'm now 39 weeks pregnant.
Best of luck OP x

It's nice hearing all these TTC success stories following laparoscopy.

Hi, Girl!I hope that you are doing good. It's really sad what happened to you.Endometriosis affects a woman's generative organs when cells similar to those that line the uterus are found in other parts of the body.here are many options to manage and treat endometriosis including a healthy lifestyle, pain-relief medicines, hormone treatment such as the oral protection pill and progestins.About one-third of women with endometriosis have trouble with pregnancy and struggle to get pregnant. This is likely to affect women in different ways and can produce a rollercoaster of sensations. Once pregnant, many women also worry about the effect of their endometriosis on their pregnancy and delivery. So don't lose hope.Stay positive and keep your head away negative thoughts.Everything will be fine just focus on your health.Don't worry about anything and don't be discouraged.May God bless you with many children. All my best wishes to you.XOXo :*
