Becinase nasal spray during pregnancy

Hi ladies
I’m wondering if anyone else has or is using beconase during pregnancy.
I get terrible allergy outbreaks very regularly where I sneeze a lot and have headaches and itchy eyes.
I asked my midwife and she said if the need outweighs the risk then take it.
I tried to buy some from a pharmacy today and they were a bit reluctant to sell me it. Now I’m concerned even though there is limited research to suggest there is or isn’t a risk x

I had awful hay fever throughout my 3 pregnancies and was prescribed antihistamine tablets and sprays each time. With my first two dc I even had steroids as my asthma was so bad. GP said same to me, you need it so take it.

I did for both pregnancies. Normally I take tablets as well and even with both am not symptom-free, so would have been awful without either and so Beconase was least risky. Issue is that they can't morally test it on pregnant women, not that there are any known issues.

Only you know how bad you would be without it but my view was it's miserable enough sometimes being pregnant without having bad fever as well.

My midwife said not take anything but if it got really bad pointed out that they prescribe piriton to pregnant women who get really bad itching, in a kind of on your own head be it way.

But then I discovered prevalin which states it is safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women. So I've been using no that instead. Not sure how good it is yet as the season just started.

I used it when I needed to. I also asked the pharmacist and was given a wobbly no. I got the impression they had no idea and they didn't want to take the risk of saying yes.

Thankyou for your replies! The pharmacist checked a medical book and there wasn’t even any recommendations in there! I purchased some prevalin as well so will see how that works.
I was prescribed nasonex before pregnancy so I’m sure I used that in the first few weeks. Was using beconase as I could but it in a chemist without faffing around with a prescription. I just hope all is ok with baby x

I guess if people use steroid sprays for asthma then there should be limited risk x
