Painful acne- any solutions?

The only time I had acne in the past was during puberty and it was on my back. I have never had a particularly spotty face but since finding out I was pregnant my face has just exploded. A lot of the spots are extremely painful too and it’s getting me down Sad. I feel like a 14 year old!

I drink a lot of water, eat healthily, wash my face twice a day and ensure all make up is removed (I have tried wearing it less too but I’m not confident enough to rock the acne...) I also moisturise daily and use a face pack a couple of times a week as well as keeping my hair tied back as much as possible and not touching my face.

I’m trying my absolute best but have just woken up to yet another break out on top of the one that was just starting to slightly improve Sad. Anything I can do? I’m 10+2.

No advice really, just sympathy!! Mine are all on my chin area, like a beardSad but have drastically improved since passing the first trimester- fingers crossed yours will too!

It's just hormones. Pregnancy acne is a 'thing'. I couldn't believe it. I'm so glad PP's disappeared. Mine did not go away and dd is starting school soon Confused

Long term acne sufferer here. When I first got pregnant it was really bad. Then suddenly it all cleared up around the end of my first trimester. Stayed relatively clear after baby was born too and my skin has stayed fairly settled, even during subsequent pregnancies. Fingers crossed for you!

It sounds like you might be doing too much? Washing your face twice per day and multiple face masks could be drying out your skin and causing you to produce excessive oil. Maybe try a week of just rising your face with water and a really basic moisturiser for sensitive skin?

I will give it a go. I didn’t used to do as much before the acne but I wanted to get rid of it ASAP so started that skincare routine. I have dropped using spot washes because they didn’t work so now just wash my face with soap and water. It’s driving me crazy Sad. Most of my spots are on the far side of my cheeks near my ears and along my jawline. I get the occasional one on my forehead or chin. Last week the biggest spot I have ever had popped up on my chin. So painful.

I feel your pain. Mine are on jawline but mostly on neck/decollete/shoulders. I found out that if I cleanse twice a day with the same products I use for my face, I can keep most of it at bay.
I use the Body Shop tea tree scrub/mask twice a day and the NipFab glicolic pads every other night.
