Pregnancy bras for larger busts ... Help

Help! Bra buying advice needed.

So I'm a 32G normally and over the last few years have got my bras from Bravissimo - definitely the best place I've found catering to my size, but not cheap!

I'm now 13 weeks pregnant and my boobs must have gone up at least a cup size (or maybe two). My usual bras don't fit and it seems it's definitely time to move into the maternity bra world - for comfort mostly.
So, two questions.

  1. Where's the best place to look for larger sizes. Bravissimo seem to have limited options.
  1. I will no doubt get even bigger as I move onto the nursing phase, so, do I just accepted that I'll need to invest again one baby comes? And anything I get now will only fit me for the next 6 months or so?

Would people advise I go for nursing bras now? Or is there another sort I should get for this interim period.

I don't want to splash out like mad, but also want to look after my boobs.

Hello! I used Bravado ones for my 38G's, really comfy, supportive and reliable. I still use them
to sleep in now Smile

You need a Molke! www.molke.co.uk. Fab patterns too.

Hot milk. I got mine from New Zealand, it was a great service but 10 years ago now so I can't remember the distributors name. They were so comfy and I got nursing bras too.

I know that it is recommended that you wear non-underwired bras as you move on in pregnancy, but having worn non-underwired in my first pregnancy from about 20 weeks (32JJ/K while pregnant), I wore underwired bras for most of my second pregnancy and felt they fitted me much better and I was much more comfortable.

Just having a regular fitting every month or two and making sure there was a really good underwire fit and cups with a little extra room kept me really comfortable, and helped me still feel 'normal' in terms of lift and shape under clothing during pregnancy.

I liked soft cup non-underwired bras for sleeping, and sometimes lounging around the house, but if I was to be pregnant again I would definitely still have a stock of underwired bras.

I used to go to my nearest Bravissimo store, just because they usually had a lot of styles in stock for me to try on at once, but definitely agree that they do not stock a very wide range of non-underwired bras. They had a really good remote fitting service via web chat/cam or email/phone with pictures if I couldn't get to store for a fitting as well - this was especially helpful after I'd had DD and couldn't get to the store.

If you are planning to breastfeed, I also found it difficult to find comfy non-underwired bras that had enough support for me. I ended up buying cheaper underwired bras from brastop etc. for the inital nursing stage where my bust size fluctuated quite a bit, and ended up just 'popping' out over the top of the bra, (making sure the cup was a generous fit), as again I found it more comfortable, and I found that approach no different to wearing a non-wired nursing bra in terms of ease of breastfeeding, but my bras did only last about 2 or 3 months before the underwires popped out of their piping.

Hope this helps, sorry if it doesn't!

Get fitted in Braviddimo and then try figleaves, brastop, even ASOS. You’ll probably find it comfier to go up a band size or two in pregnancy so it might make finding bras a bit easier.
