I have just found out I am 7 weeks pregnant after 2 weeks at Disney world where I did a couple of roller coasters.
I'll book a doctors appointment when home.
Do you think this will cause problems?

Why would it cause problems?

Congratulations!

Notmyname2018 · 08/04/2018 21:25

Congratulations. I’m sure you will be fine. Perhaps you can ask the gp receptionist what she thinks first as the gp might refer you on to someone else anyway xxx

FranticallyPeaceful · 08/04/2018 21:34

I went to Alton towers and then Blackpool pleasure beach before I found out I was pregnant with my youngest son - he’s now 7 and he’s perfect. Don’t worry

Bobbiepin · 08/04/2018 21:36

I may be mistaken but I think the 'No pregnant women on rides' rule is to prevent trauma against a bigger bump. At the moment your tiny bean is very well protected under many layers of fluid, muscle (fat) etc. I'm sure you'd be fine but make a GP/midwife appointment to put your mind at rest if you feel you need to. Congrats on your pregnancy!

123bananas · 08/04/2018 21:38

Well cushioned at that stage it will be fine.

Congratulations!

You could go for a Disney themed name? Wink

Aprilmightmemynewname · 08/04/2018 21:38

Well it's going to have to be Minnie or Mickey isn't it?
Get over to baby names for opinions op!!

sparklepops123 · 08/04/2018 21:39

As long as it’s got nothing to do with Mickey Mouse you’ll be fine 😂- sorry couldn’t help myself !

zaalitje · 08/04/2018 22:07

Why are you worried about roller coasters OP? Baby is very well protected in there, about the size of a lentil inside your soft squidgy uterus and we'll below the pelvic bone. The signs will be to protect against possible litigation and also to protect against trauma to developed bumps.

GP is likely to just tell you to self refer to the midwives for booking etc. They rarely have anything to do with early pregnancy.

seven201 · 08/04/2018 22:16

Why do you need to see the gp? Register with your midwife unit instead. Congratulations!

LittleMissCantbebothered · 08/04/2018 22:20

You do not need a GP appointment for this. Even if going on rollercoasters had caused a problem (which it won't have), there is nothing that can be done now. Just book your first midwife appointment.

Your baby will have been the size of a grain of rice or smaller whilst you were there, so it's well-cushioned and can't get shaken around too much IYSWIM! Don't worry Smile

Fromage · 09/04/2018 10:09

Roller coasters etc won't have caused any problems at all.

I am loving the idea of a Disney-themed name, like Mickey or Minnie.

I went on various ride when pregnant at Disney including rollercoasters. He is now 5 1/2 and unaffected (although hates roller coasters)

Hypermice · 09/04/2018 10:12

No it won’t have caused any damage at all - the potential for harm is when the bump is bigger and the forces involved could cause injury to Mum and baby. At this stage it would have done nothing at all.

Congratulations but you don’t need a GP - just your regular mw

El1995 · 09/04/2018 10:25

I found out I was pregnant a month after visiting Thorpe Park and going on every roller-coaster twice 😮 so would have been 10-12 weeks at the time..... Now 40 weeks and baby very healthy! Congrats :3

tedding79 · 09/04/2018 18:19

Thank you everyone for your reassurance - really appreciate it.

Bloody hell el1995 how did you manage every ride twice in a day? Was the park empty or something? misses the point

NotTakenUsername · 09/04/2018 20:13

CottonSock · 09/04/2018 20:15

I thought it was something much more juicy too. Laughed at the name suggestions though

Tiredmum100 · 09/04/2018 20:31

I came back from Disney pregnant too. Went on all the roller coasters (and drunk a lot of alcohol). Everything was fine!

El1995 · 10/04/2018 08:53

@unsureteacher it sure was!🙈 just my lucky day I guess!
