Flu vaccination necessary coming into the summer?

I'm getting my whooping cough vaccination next week and the GP had also sent me a letter about getting the flu vaccination if I wanted. But is it really necessary coming into the warmer months? I've never even actually had the flu vaccination myself when I've not been pregnant.

My midwife was going to say give it a miss as flu season was finishing but I had already had it this season anyway. It's not going to hurt to have it though, could you chat through with the nurse\gp when you go in? Your chances of getting flu are lower now you are coming into spring but it can be really nasty when you are pregnant

I didn't have it for a September due date

My midwife told me that the nhs have run out if flu jabs in my area and said that it wasn't really needed now.

For the last two years I have had the flu during spring/summer time so I wouldn't risk it if I were you 😊 x

Flu can be devastating for pregnant women and I’ve always had the flu jab in pregnancy. But I tend to agree that flu season is pretty much over! Your decision

It isn’t flu season anymore and this year’s jab won’t offer optimal protection against next year’s strains, so personally I would skip it. I do get one every year myself but if you want one, get it in September. It will protect baby if you were still pregnant, but should do so as well if you are bf or just generally keep you from getting ill and passing it to your baby.

Thanks for the advice everyone! Think I will skip it and get it in Sept before due date if available
