Slapcheek should I be worried?

My daughter's slapcheek rash came out on the 18th March and I am 5 weeks pregnant, so I conceived the week her rash came out.

It is now 3 weeks since she had it and yesterday and today her rash has come back very significantly.

Could she have slapcheek again and should I be worried ie pregnancy?

I think you need to speak to a midwife. It can be very dangerous in pregnancy.

It's most dangerous between 9 - 20 weeks I think but I you can request a blood test to see if you are already immune, or if not, if you have been recently infected, then they can keep a closer eye on the baby. Most adults are already immune so try not to worry too much.

I'm out of what is considered the danger gestations but was exposed a few weeks ago at 28 weeks. I'd had my 28 week bloods taken a few days before so the midwife arranged for those bloods to be checked for immunity and she came and took another sample just incase it came back none immune to see if I'd been recently infected. Thankfully they came back showing that I was already immune.

Better safe than sorry.

Thank you. My mum said she had never heard of it so I'm presuming I never had it as a child. Best ring the gp tomorrow morning for both me and my dd.

My mum also told me she didn't think I'd had it but I was immune so I had. 60 % of people are actually already immune. Dr's did a blood test straight away for me 😊

If you are immune does that mean you can't pass it to the baby?

Thinking about it rationally, my dd rash cane up two days before I ovulated. Which is when you are no longer contagious once the rash appears. So if I caught it, it would have been the week before I ovulated.

Yes if you're immune baby is protected 😊

I'm going to the gp in the morning after speaking to 111 today. They recommended a blood test as did my friend who is a midwife.
