Yep, developed eczema for the duration of my first pregnancy and the doc said it was just one of those weird side effects.

They prescribed aveeno cream which didn’t do much, e45 itch relief was amazing but check with your GP/midwife it’s ok.

It can also be skin growing and stretching, also read up on cholestasis

Congratulations!

100% Aloe Vera Gel is my go to for itchy and/or dry, flaky skin.

I used to lay cold flannels on my skin so I could sleep, i used to wake up after a few hours and have to read wet them.

Mention it at your next midwife appointment as it might be worth them doing a liver test and then they will have baseline to check it with in later pregnancy.

Also rub don’t scratch.

There is also an onitment you can get, like calomilie lotion, your doctors can prescribe

The likelyhood is that it's just one of those things.

However, there are a few things it could be which would need testing for, as if positive it would mean you'd need monitoring a bit more. Firstly, early itching can be indicative of a twin pregnancy.

Secondly : Don't Google. That way madness lies.

I had the all over itching in my first pregnancy. First gp said either eczema or scabies. Treated for scabies (even though I had no other symptoms) and when I was still taking ice cold baths at 3am to stop the itching, I went to another gp.

Simple blood test later and my liver had decided it didn't like me being pregnant and so was playing up. It's called Obstetric Choleostasis (my spelling is probably wrong)

I had to have my liver function checked every few weeks to make sure it wasn't rising too much as if it did, it could affect baby.

Everything was fine. Healthy baby delivered.

See a gp asap to rule it out.

I also had the liver disease described above, however itching was only In my Hands and feet. Felt like insects burrowing under the skin. I had symptoms early but it showed up on tests around 26 weeks. There’s a very useful Facebook group you can join if you do have it, although as you have all over itching it’s more likely to be something more colmon. Icp is not very common.

Thank you everyone. I am seeing the doctor next week so will just bring it up its alot more settled this morning and has just gone to my boobs so wondering if it's more to do with my skin stretching as my boobs have already grown a cup size 😨😨 but will definitely have a chat with the doc because I did have glandular fever the beginning of this year and my liver levels were slightly elevated because of this so I wonder whether my liver doesn't really like to behave!

I was very itchy in early pregnancy and it turned out I was anaemic. Since I've been on iron tablets it's stopped completely. I'd get a blood test just to rule out anaemia.
