Morning sickness getting worse at 9 weeks...

Asking out of curiosity as I have horrible morning sickness (nausea and vomiting) which is getting worse. I'm 9 weeks and was hoping for it to start easing off soon (however not complaining as am just happy to be pregnant!).

Anyone fancy telling me their experiences with morning sickness? Smile

@45mine2b as soon as I read your post it screamed 'advertisement' - literally all of your posts are telling women how great some sort of tea is. You sound like a tea advertisement campaign! Sorry, but it doesn't make you seem very genuine...

@Motherd thank you. Ive been prescribed Stemetil but it does absolutely nothing. My stomach has actually started to hurt now as if I have a bug. Fingers crossed it eases soon!

@Norugratsatall thank you also. Ice lollies have been a life saver! I find the ones made from proper orange juice the best 🙂

Mine was worse at around 9 weeks but started to improve at about 12 weeks and mostly gone by 14 weeks. 28 weeks now and still can't brush my teeth without wretching though!

SomeRandomBird · 06/04/2018 22:02

9-10 weeks was the worst for me, by 13 weeks I had the odd day I didn't throw up at all and it had pretty much gone by 18 weeks. I remember at the time it felt like it would never end but once the baby is here it will all be a distant memory!

ShirlySue · 06/04/2018 22:03

@Bluebirdsky it's the worst isn't it! I've got to the point where I have to close my eyes when I go to the toilet as the sight of the toilet bowl makes me wretch!

Watermelon helped when I couldn't stomach any food or drinks

GummyGoddess · 06/04/2018 22:07

I was hospitalised at 9 weeks but have managed to stay out since then. Had a minor relapse around 20 weeks but not severe enough for hospital and have just got over another one around 30 weeks. Both of the relapses the hospital suggested would happen so I was expecting them.

There are still days when I don't eat anything and barely drink but somehow managing to stay out of hospital. Ondansetron really helped when it was bad, if possible see if your midwife could assist you with acquiring some. Cyclizine was useless.

Motherd · 06/04/2018 22:08

Speak to your midwife or GP and ask for some different anti sickness. Feel so sorry for you I know exactly how you feel! Also try ginger tea, well I got ginger and lemon I think, but that can help nausea. I used to have my head down the toilet constantly! I also bought myself some mini bin bags to carry round with me if I went anywhere that I could use to puke inGrin they came in VERY handy!

@SomeRandomBird love watermelon! What a good idea. Thank you.

@GummyGoddess sorry you went through that. Very glad I haven't needed to go to hospital (though there have been times where I wouldn't given my left arm for a drip!). Midwife appointment on Wednesday so we'll see what she says.

@Motherd very good Idea re the bin bags, thank you! Though haven't ventured far from my house for a while...

I'm 14 weeks today and I swear the past week it's been getting worse. Can't get out of bed without retching, it's crap.

kirinm · 07/04/2018 11:19

Mine started at 5 weeks. Got worse at 7w. Got worse again at 11w. Calmed down a bit and then got worse at 13w and then disappeared at 15w! I now get travel sickness on longer journeys but other than that I'm good sickness wise.

The tiredness has only just stopped about 18 weeks.

Pinkvoid · 07/04/2018 19:57

Yeah, mine has got worse over the past week too (or maybe I’m losing my tolerance for feeling like shit most of the day...) I just turned 10 weeks today.
