Hi, we've been TTC with our second and I've been having positive ovulation tests everyday for nearly 4 weeks. So far I've taken pregnancy tests everyday which have been negative (apart from 2 very very faint ones about 2 weeks in) when I had this before we were pregnant with my first (now 19 months) so I've been assuming I was pregnant. And started to feel sore breast, slightly naesous, cramps. However surely the pregnancy tests should would be positive now?! The positive ovulation tests started on the 14th March (today being the 16th April) I can't get a doctors appointment or even a doctors phone call, I tried asking my HV I tried asking 111. Google just says it's a pregnancy. Could it be anything else? I don't want to get my hopes up and everyday I'm getting more attached to something that might not be there. I've cut back on the gym, aclchol free etc. I just want to know if it could be something more serious like Ectopic pregnancy? Or cervical cancer or something wrong with me?! Has anyone else had any experience with how long it takes to get a positive pregnancy test?! It was 2 weeks for me last time 😔😔😔 please please help xx

It seems a bit premature to think about miscarriage when you haven't had a positive pregnancy test. "Symptoms" don't really mean anything and my guess is that your hormones are disordered by the PCO hence the lack of ovulation and periods. If that is the case A&E won't really be able to do anything - you will need treatment and referral via your GP. I don't see any reason to think about ectopic either, you'd have positive pregnancy tests with ectopic.

As I mentioned above, I have PCOS and was told that using ovulation tests when TTC wouldn’t be much help as your hormones are all over the place with PCOS and could cause false readings.

I know it's an anxious time for you and that you really want answers but nothing you have described at this stage sounds like a medical emergency so I really don't think you need to go to A&E.
If you feel you need to see someone over the weekend then I would call 111 but otherwise I would just call your surgery back first thing on Monday morning and if they can't give you an appointment ask for one of the doctors to give you a call.
I don't think there is anything to suggest you are having a miscarriage especially as it's not even confirmed that you are pregnant.

Thanks Called 111 last week no help. Can't get a drs call back or an appointment. I've had 2 faint positive pregnancy tests but now they are all negative (ovulation still 2 lines but now getting lighter) so now worried that is a miscarriage as it's one of the things the nhs lists. Just so don't know what to do. 😔

If it’s a miscarriage then you will bleed, regardless of whether you normally have periods or not.

Like PP have mentioned with PCOS it can play with results a little your ovulation test definitely shouldn't be showing positive for a month , I also have PCOS and it sends my hormones crazy.

I wouldn't worry about a miscarriage until you can confirm your pregnancy, try and pay private if that will settle your worries while waiting for the doc !

Hope you get an appointment tomorrow

Just a follow up for those of you if you ever find yourself in my position looking for answers. Searching these threads.

Finally got a phone call doctors appointment today. Over a month of trying to get one.

Outcome of phone call: Miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy the unborn fetus can be réabsorbed into the body - no bleeding.
(Ps in very very rare cases you can also have a stone fetus) (the fetus calcifies itself when it dies)

Will update with the final result now that I've been referred for a scan.
