Horrible pain after Cervical stitch - is this normal???

I am 16 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child, I had a cervical stitch put in yesterday under a general anaesthetic. I had the same stitch put in with my first pregnancy due to LLETZ treatment in my 20's. I had a lot of bleeding after that stitch and was in hospital for 3 nights, I had pain but not like this.

I am in A LOT of pain at the moment. They sent me home with just paracetamol, I have 30/500 co-codamol at home that they said I could take instead if the pain got bad. I'm having to take them every 4 hours but as you can only take it 4 times in 24 hours its leaving me with 8 hours without any pain relief. Last night I was literally rolling around and crying as the pain was so bad.
I had a water infection when I went in and was half way through a course of antibiotics for that. It feels worse if my bladder is full but I cant actually feel the need to go to the loo, I have to really focus to get my bladder to work. It also feels like something is literally spiking me up the bum and I can hardly sit down.
The pain is intense and burning low down in my pelvis and just feels relentless, can someone reassure my this is normal?

I think you should call 111, your GP or midwife. Flowers

Yes, please phone 111. Good luck.

I would ring 111 I have no experience of this procedure but the fact you are in so much pain is worth getting checked out. Hope your ok and feeling better soon.

I had a stitch done back in Jan @ 13 weeks pg and only had cramping and a bit of back ache. I'm in a few support groups and more discomfort than I had is normal, but this sounds like something I'd be concerned about. I was told to call the ward I was on if I had any concerns. I'd definitely be calling them! Cake

I would call the hospital where you had the stitch put in for some advice

Thanks all - I spoke to the GP who didn't seem overly concerned. I suggested that he give me separate codeine tablets so then I can take the paracetamol on its own then the codeine later - that way I have pain relief covered for 24 hours. He very reluctantly agreed.
They gave me Fentanyl in recovery which worked for about 45 minutes before the pain came back - I just don't remember the pain being so intense last time.
If it doesn't get better tomorrow or tonight is like last night I will call the ward in the morning.
