Yes you can. I think it's appalling your midwife is unsure?? The NHS website is clear about what can and cannot be eaten. NHS Link

It used to be you could only have pasteurised mayonnaise, however I think this recently changed.

When I had BMTs I was on a restricted diet and couldn’t have most m and s products with mayo in them not that I could eat much

Thank you, I did say to her it's not listed on the website, but she says things change all the time and shed better check.

My god how do you all cope with this??!!

Wellthisunexpected · 04/04/2018 14:02

With what Georgie?

Coleslaw?? My goodness Grin your main food concerns are pates, seafood and unpasteurised cheeses. Even then, you can eat the cheese if it's cooked. There are a few other foods that pose a risk but even so, the risk is so so insignificant.

Analysing every minute thing you put in your mouths? It’s obsessive and weird and unhealthy to be so all consumed by it.

You’re pregnant, not dying of some tropical disease.

Something happens to some women when they become pregnant and they get obsessive about everything like they are the first person ever to be pregnant or something.

Supermarket, chain restaurant etc will be made in a factory and pasteurized mayo. Homemade from a deli, restaurant etc 'may' use homemade mayo = raw egg. However vast majority of eggs are lion stamped so totally safe. The chance of getting ill are minute. I'd eat it without any concern.
I'd be less worried about the coleslaw and more worried about your midwife tbh.

nordicflamingo · 04/04/2018 14:57

All eggs are meant to be safe now.

M and s did not use cooked eggs a few years ago, I wouldn’t think it’s changed.

Georgie, the nhs offer standard advice, it’s often wise to follow and be more cautious than usual.
