Nausea Vs. Morning Sickness

I'm between 6 and 7 weeks pregnant and have been getting waves of nausea and was sick once last week...

My nose is ridiculous and I can smell absolutely everything...

When did your morning sickness start?

How long did it last? Did it start as nausea and then turn into morning sickness or did some people escape with just nausea?

Thanks in advance lovely Mumsnetters ❤️

I had actual sickness for the entire pregnancy with dd1( threw up every few hours but felt fine for couple hours between chuckups) but that was better than my twin pregnancy where I felt nauseous all the time but was never actually sick.

Nausea is still morning sickness - it isn't just vomiting.

Had mine from 6 weeks - constantly until 15 weeks.

Oh and at my worst I was vomiting 50+ tines a day.

Even at that level of sickness there are still doctors who will tell you it’s to be coped with. And people who insist on ginger. It’s really dispiriting.

Just nausea for me in both pregnancies. I was actually sick maybe twice in second pregnancy but both seemed to be a one off.

Yes ginger made me worse. At one point early on in my first pregnancy I was sick so often and with such force I had red spots around my eyes like bruising which apparently was from all the retching. Have just remembered ( it was twenty years ago!) That the only thing that brought a bit of relief or seemed to was travel bands for travel sickness.

I just want to cry with my nausea/sickness. Especially at night time. Nothing helps ease it and I'm just so fed up!

When I had my DS I started with nausea at 5 weeks and vomiting at 7 weeks, it lasted until 16 weeks.

This time I just have chronic nausea all day without vomiting. I do dry heave every morning (not by choice) and for whatever reason that offers some relief Hmm.

I'm just over 11 weeks and the sickness has really stepped up. The nausea has been horrific since 6 weeks but I wasn't being sick until just recently.

I just start gagging completely out of the blue and then bleurgh. I almost welcome it, as awful as it is at the time, as it seems to bring some sort of temporary relief from the nausea. How bad is that?

Nausea and no sickness for me. It stopped at 11 weeks, heartburn has replaced it...
